Really? The world is turning........... I didnt know they were calling for them in Canada. Is that normal?

There's been a few VERY Bad ones over the last 30 or so years, lots more before that too, a few have killed people and left millions in damage in there wake.

we mostly get severe thunder and wind storms though.

Hey Bob, any one of the upgrades and/or repairs your doing is reason to be excited.... But everything together.........????? Are you gonna be able to contain yourself.....:blob8:

I'm just tickled to death with all the fixes and upgrades.

I now have speedo lights!!! Mike's wife has tiny hands and she just reached in there and swapped out all the bulbs.

Thanks Debbie!!!

The final fix for 1878 wipers......

The pictures I posted previously of the offset lever that mounts to the wiper motor is confirmed. Use one from a 74-77 C-body, cut and weld as shown.

We tried using the linkage rod from a 74-77 C-body to the 1st wiper pivot. It won't work. Something is up with the geometry of that rod and it hits the stud on the wiper motor that the offset lever mounts to. It'll also cut through the wiper bushing in a few seconds and the linkage rod falls off. The correct fix is to use the 1978 linkage rod to the first pivot. 1978 linkage rod to the 1st pivot has that @$%^^ wiper cam on one end and the regular wiper bushing on the other end. I had another 1978 linkage rod so we cut off the small end (or any end of a 74-77 linkage rod will work too) and centered it on the big hole and welded it in place. Presto final fix in place!!!

We didn't have to replace the heater box. After tearing the dash apart we found 5 of the 7 vacuum lines going to the first block unplugged. We also replaced the blower motor switch, the blower resistor, and the heat/defrost/vent/max A/C controller and got everything working.

Also painted and installed the package tray and replaced the rear seats.

Tomorrow, we still have the power antenna and new stereo and the front seats to put in.

And getting new windshield installed.

I am just overwhelmed with the progress!!!!

Thanks Mike, Debbie and my nephew Matt!!!!

Can't wait to see all of the improvements, it'll be like driving a new car for you at first.

It's day 3 and I have good new and bad news to report. First the bad news.
I found a NOS tinted windshield on EBay that was 60 miles from Mike. When I went to pick it up he had another another one. $50 a piece... can't go wrong. Well, the only place it would fit is in the trunk. I loaded them both carefully and braced well with pillows and blankets. One broke by time I got to Mike's and today at the glass shop the other one had the lamination separating so that windshield is not going in.

So what's the good news Bob? Sorry about the good one breaking brother

The good news is we got the new front seats installed but had to swap the motor and tracks from old seats to the new seats. Those complete seat assemblies are heavy as hell!

Old seats....

New seats, package tray, and door panels....
