News Flash!!!

I have a high load to pick up in SC on Monday and a 100-150 mile detour on the way there will put me through Carlisle.

If the whole deal doesn't go sideways I should be there Thursday afternoon late until Saturday afternoon.

The plan is to drop my float at the Petro and park the tractor in the big field outside Gate 3. Depending on what she charges to camp I may just stay there.

It sure helps. Up until a few years ago it was the only way we got to go. I've got spoiled now staying in a nice B+B and bringing a car down but I'm flying solo this year so camping in the truck is no real hardship.

I was going to spend the afternoon making sure everything was set to go... My youngest son's '88 F150 showed up on a rollback with a seized water pump.... So much for a laid back afternoon..

Gotta get packed tonight, leaving in the morning right after I drop the dog off at the dog hotel.

That's almost like getting paid to go there.

I've done that. Drop coils at the port in Baltimore at 8 am fri load out of Hagerstown at 10am and picked up at the Petro at around noon.

Many of you have been to Carlisle more than I have, but last year s the only year I recall that there wasn't a thunderstorm at sometime during the weekend.

I'll be heading down early Friday morning with my oldest two. We should be there between 10-11. I'll have to get registered when we show up. Due to some questions about making it I missed the online cut off.

I don't remember what day it was last year, but it poured down rain one evening in Shippensburg, I don't know if it made it to Carlisle though.

No good news to report here at all.. sigh... not a fun night.

We made it a little over 200 miles out. Car started running a little warmer then I liked. Pulled into a gas station to inspect. While inspecting found the trans spewing its guts all over. The *** of the car is covered in trans fluid. Went to a local Walmart, and got some of that Lucas trans leak stuff. It worked great before, but did nothing today...

Turned the car around.. which is prolly a good thing. The overheating issue seemed to be getting worse.

We lost the battle, but not the war yet. We are now in my Ram. All night on the road, and here we are at our neighborhood gas station again.

This is heart breaking news. . . Very sorry the car needs a little more shaking down. Hope to see you at Carlisle, anyway.
