'69 Fury III Convertible Build Thread- Project IVY

Boy, that late 60's-early 70's era was a unique time that is for sure. What the hell is an "import"?
Up to the 70's where I worked, it was a car that you came out to the parking lot after work and found all four tires slashed.
Now here's my observation, rascist or not...
Up to the time I mentioned the place was literally 100% local white working class. Then................
OK? Nuff, said.

115 degree days for two solid months and you're gloating??
And don't give that dumb line: "but it's a dry heat".

I guess you never heard of evaporate cooling, and it works very good in the dry heat and like the man said we can drive our cars year round. I lived in Ohio for over 40 years now live in Phx and would never go back there to live.

What place....can you be more specific as to what you refer to? ....what place was literally 100% local white working class?how are you being racist?

1. The Stop & Shop Supermarkets Grocery Distribution Center, 100 Meadow Road, Readville, MA.
Can't get more specific than that.

2. Many, MANY, PC people would say that is a racist remark.
I can't say who specifically....

Fascinating video. Funny to hear the reference to the aerodynamic design when applied to the board-flat '69 front end. That convertible sure looks nice, though I think I'd prefer it without the rear fender skirts. Lots of emphasis on the recalled road wheels too.

Greg, I noticed that emphasis too, then noticed the video was based on information from Mid August '68, Which I find even more interesting because of my car being built Early September (8th) 1968

I think your just over reacting a bit. I don't think THAT many people would say its racist to make an honest observation concerning a certain demographic at a specific location in time OR the fact that it may have changed. That's just silly. Go crack open a frosty one, then take a nap. You'll feel better.

I think Stan is spot on with his observation. Too many people trying to be politically correct and not telling it like it is or how they feel. Then they react when they hear something like he said here as a tragedy when in reality they feel it too.

PC mind/thought/voice control is definitely a reality, but as many people there who buy into that.....there's a silent majority I think much larger who right now just tolerate it....for now.

Trying to keep the faith, came up with this, this afternoon, gotta go tomorrow and pick up some body supplies and see about getting my F8 mixed. Going to get the newer HD 318 Exhaust manifolds cleaned up and ready to go on the car, might drop them by my buddies shop and hot tank them.

Saw a very faded B7 looking '69 Fury convertible on a trailer headed south on 81/135 north of Salina Kansas today.

Bingo... I'm really tired of the so overplayed "poor me" bullshit and a chip on the shoulders of the so called victims of racism of today. The vast majority of Indians or Blacks could not name one ancestor that was harshly affected from things that happened between people that have been dead several generations back.

Black citizens of the U.S. are not the only people of the world to have slavery in their past...Just the only ones that think they should benefit for it. History is loaded with slavery world wide and through ALL races. The same thing can be said for racism, black people and Indians of the U.S. cry and whine to benefit themselves, when racism goes in all directions world wide. Show me anyone with a nose, and you have someone that has looked down it in some direction, at some point, if not for race, then for charachter.

Being in some boo hoo list to get entitlements and special treatment in the U.S. has become a way of life, and has stayed at a ridiculous level for way too long. I have a high respect for the exceptions to the rule, and wish the polically correct candy asses would pull their heads out, and give the respect where it is earned, and not to the losers that cry "poor me" with their hand out, for a living. The PC like to put themselves on a pedestal, by pointing the finger at others, telling them what bad people they are, by not coddling the whiny.

I don't hate any specific race, just some specific types, separated by character...
I am admittedly predjudice against...

Anyone that screams to benefit from entitlements, for something that happened to another.

Anyone that keeps the hate from a specific point in the past alive, to ultimately benifit from that hate.

Anyone that is a leach on society, and refuse to take responsibility for themselves.

Anyone that tells me I'm a bad person for not liking people that make life worse for others.

Very well put.

However I still believe in there is a silent majority......those who tolerate the shenanigans, keep their mouths shut, go to work day in a day out to support their families, make positive contributions and generally keep the country going.....I think we will see them voice their concerns during the next presidential election.

Now your just dreaming, we had all hoped for that to happen this time around, and nothing. Its not gonna get any better until something drastic happens or worse, it could be too late.

I know, I know....my jaw dropped and shattered like glass too the morning after the elections. How the hell could someone get elected a 2nd time around with continuing 8-9 percent unemployment rate, government mandated healthcare, and more tax hikes promised in the future. Plus the spectre of a lame duck President who can do anything he wants in a second term b/c he's not worried about re-election. It defies all logic. Believe me I was tasting pee in my cheerios that morning.
