'69 Fury III Convertible Build Thread- Project IVY

Thanks for the update, hope you can get to the garage soon. It will totally motivate you to have a dry enclosed space, that you can throw some heat into. Not that you need any motivation, but a nice enclosed space changes everything. I actually look forward to the changing seasons, because I know I can work on my car since I'm not driving.

I enjoy working on her almost as much as driving. I have been in a really good mood ever since I started working on Goldie again.
When I get my indoor space I will live in it, only emerge for work, meals and showers.

Noticed you had been hiding ......... I have been through that tent thing, they always seem like a good idea but always a problem. I was also without shelter many times so they are better than nothing.

Excellent wheels, interesting how many survive
It was good for the first year, but this years weather has just hammered my $25 tent into the crapper.
Nick, those wheels are set #2 for you, right?

Yes they Are Dad, Going to paint the Argent ring F8 on these.

Then he should call you dad
Dad #5 call me Dad? is that possible?

Anyway nothing new to report really, Fury is slowly reverting back to being a rusty pile, sadly I haven't won the lottery yet, however I did win a free ticket the other day, hmmm I think I would have rather have been a $500 million sole winner than a stupid free ticket.

Did go ahead and give some attention to my truck yesterday, much needed Love, been neglecting him while working on the Fury, just beating the **** out of him and dumping my money into the Bottomless pit known as Angel/Ivy, So while I'm again still not rich I did dump a full paycheck into some goodies for the truck, and the money was well worth it, Truck rides and handles 100% better, still need to do the brakes, body and exhaust, this year eventually I'll do the steering and front & rear suspensions.

Also hit the scrapyard today and froze my nads off in a snowstorm tearing apart half a Dodge camper to get a powersteering pump for the Fury, aside from taking a good crack to the back of the head from the hood and slicing my finger on the razor sharp grille thus causing me to half bleed to death, I'd say it was worth it to be rid of the GM style reservoir on my reman power steering pump on the Fury

Anyway its been a rough year so far and I don't see it getting better, I need another nurse. 1800483_10202997417033802_696012222_n.jpg1620927_10202997376352785_2088408275_n.jpg1653374_10202997376392786_991506149_n.jpg1743580_10202997417073803_1143666400_n.jpg1798618_10202997376312784_1030979535_n.jpgGEDC1816.jpgGEDC1817.jpgGEDC1814.jpgGEDC1815.jpg

You just need some decent weather. Turns out it's cold as **** in Canada this time of year.

We've had weather very similar to that usually had much further north this year, crazy ****!

Yes Matt I saw Detroit broke a nearly 100 year old record for snow fall this year. I didn't catch if it was for the month or the whole year. If it was the whole year damn that a lot of snow, you still have another full month of snowy weather.

I can't stand these sub zero Fahrenheit temperatures. My shop can heat up to 65 in about 20 minutes, because it rarely drops below freezing inside. My shop is a well insulated 30x40, 10 foot ceiling. I went there when it was -6F, it was 23 inside and it took 1 1/2 hours to reach 64. That is cold.

January was the snowiest month on record in Detroit with just over 38" and cold like I've never experienced.

Nascar really needs a superstar that the people want to listen to and is big enough to call the powers that be on the carpet though the media, like a Petty, Earnhardt, Pearson, Yarbourgh, not the corporate yes men you have now like middle management "yep whatever you say boss". There comes a time when the boss needs to be told they are wrong, and that time is overdue for Nascars management, until then I will be spending my sunday working on my car.

Did you see the new format for the chase.....? I'm still trying to figure that our.....
If NASCAR keeps screwing with my sport i may have to take up knitting .... or something.

I love the new format. Win a race & you're in the chase. 16 goes to 12 goes to 8 goes to 4 & the points reset so it all comes down to the last race. Love it!!!!!!

Damn you guys will talk about anything, your worse than my great aunt and grandmother.

Played with my second set of Roadwheels today at work, As Stan put it a while back, I always seem to come out smelling like a rose, turns out they are the 15x7's! So this means I'll split this set, then I'll have 2 15x6's and 2 15x7's per set.

On the downside The trim rings are pooched and so are the center caps :BangHead: Nigel is gonna love my money.

It's been rough lately on the home front, My grandmother passed away here at my home on Friday, my grandfather is in a rehabilitation hospital here in town and between the two I seem to have lost all motivation to finish my car, it bothers me I never got a chance to take Grandma out in the car, bothers me more that I don't have the means to be able to finish the car at this time the way it should be done, and it bothers me that it's getting worse by the day in it's current surroundings,

I've considered selling it multiple times in the last few days, Then the realization of what I have to show so far in my life set in, at 18, I have a now rusty 21 year old high mileage truck that needs a lot of TLC, I have a VERY Rusty 45 year old car that needs even more TLC and I have 3 years before I can even attempt to write a test that may or may not better myself, I've got good friends but so far I always seem to come out on the bad end of things, I've worked in my current position for 3 years (the last year and half full time) and I'm starting to loath going into work everyday, With my lack of motivation on the car at this point it would only do harm for me to touch it,

At this point I have a lot of tough decisions to make.

And I think my hair line is retracting.

Nick
