'69 Fury III Convertible Build Thread- Project IVY

I think there is no shame in coming to the realization that sometimes we jump in with the best of intentions and it working out not as planned.
You put in 100% above and beyond the call of duty. That alone earns you a Merit Badge.
Think about everything you learned and all the friends you have made.
The money you spent is chicken feed when compared to what you have learned. Cheap tuition in my book.
I'm going to finally say it. Tack a sabatical, move on, and look for the next one.
Just make it a C-body, please. :yourock:

You're sounding like Mark now......
And I do believe Mark is a very happy camper now.

Chalk another up.................deal fell through...........that old hag..................I'm a bit bitter..............

Nick

Getting to the point where I may have to do what I said I'd never do, hell I have a choice between two things I said I'd never do.............Either let it sit and rot or sell it.........I wish I was anyone else but me......................

Nick: Like Stan said, take a break and re-group. . . If you hafta let her sit for a while, that is OK. I think that when the weather changes, you may feel a lot better about your project and yourself (and that goes for the rest of us north of the Mason-Dixon line).

What the hell is this crap? As my mother used to say “Just one cotton-picking minute! Don’t make me come up there, boy!” Re-read this thread from the beginning. It is inspiration in itself. Being a perfectionist is a curse and a blessing, you have to realize when it’s time to roll back your idea of perfection. Seems to have been a slide since last August when you found out you didn’t have the original engine. Well, let me tell you, you have 60+ years to find a numbers matching, all original, build- sheet toting, yada, yada, yada Mopar. And when you find that 1970 Sport Fury GT, V-Code barn find with 100 original miles (ok, that’s my fantasy, but you get the point), it still won’t mean as much as this one, right now. You never forget your first love, EVER. So, here is what you need to do. Get it running. Put some seats in it and as soon as the sun is out DRIVE it. Take Grandpa and Dad and the girl and DRIVE it to the local ice cream shop. Then take it to the park. Then DRIVE it home, put a cover on it and wait for the next sunny day and do it all over again. You don’t realize it but perfection is already staring you in the face.

80% curse - 20% blessing...
I proofread my post three times before clicking on REPLY.
And I still had to come back and edit it.

Yes I agree you need to make all efforts into making it driveable fastest way to getting a car stuck sitting is to have it not driveable and sitting I have this dilemma with TWO of my cars, that's why I decided if my Barracuda is not ready to paint by Carlisle I'm cutting in the glass and reassembling to the track it goes in primer

One of the problems of youth is lack of foresite and patients. You remind me so much of myself when I was your age Nick. I wern't scerd't of nothnin. what could go wrong....?

It's diffacult to get it right everytime when everthing is new to you. You start with theory and graduate to reality.

Sounds like you need to rethink things ...... get your ducks in a row ...... solve the work area issue. Then ..... you, your tools and equipment and Angel can sit down and have a heart to heart talk.

You have all the time in the world Nick, we're pulling for ya. When ya reach bottom the only way you can go is up......!

I failed to see the point where it has to rot
I'm at a point where I can't do anything else to it without having to re-do it multiple times...........I can't afford to drag it all over and have everyone dick around with it and do nothing but waste my time and money.........money I don't have to waste....

I listed Angel last night locally, after returning a few calls, and emails...................I've come to one conclusion................people are morons..............jerk offs.........and cheap SOB's

I have a Brand new rebuilt 727 in the car, I have Two Engines...........both complete, both running within the last year............I have 3 sets of rims, two sets of wheel covers, 2 sets of trim rings, 3 sets of center caps, a complete nearly flawless interior, a brand new top with glass back window, a spare top frame, a spare 8 3/4 gear set with 2.94 open gears, and nearly two of every piece of trim.......perfect set of tail lights.........trunk lip molding...........all the hard **** to find........................piles of Small Block Dodge parts.........not the common crap either..............Not to mention you know a car to go with it, with an Ontario ownership

So No, I won't take $500, I don't care who you are, who your brother is, what color your truck is or if you had a great uncle with a '67 Whatsit, You can kiss my hairy young arse.

I pulled my ad, I'm going to have to take a drive tomorrow and see what I can do........I've talked to way to many people in the last day that have given me **** about my thinking........

Finding out my Numbers 318 was gone was a major upset to me..............I like Original, Somehow a replacement doesn't feel the same.........

A friend of mine has a '70 GT V code he's restoring..........it made my car look rust free, but he's got the space and money to do it right........he not rebodying it, he bought a '70 Sport Fury Coupe and is chopping it up to repair his V Code.

Like I say I gotta do some thinking................

James, you were right, I just finished re-reading this topic, and I miss the old me. The me that said;

"Thanks Guys, what can I say, The car won me over, something about it just appeals to me, now I must have the pleasure of driving it, so I Gotta get it to that point no matter what He needs."

I miss that SOB, I need him now more then ever.

Looks like you've lost weight and are five inches taller.... you sure thats you?

NOt that I want to see it happen but not selling everything together would increase your monetary intake.......

Hell, the road wheels should get you $500 for two sets...

and why arent you wearing your C body shirt? That could be your problem.

Wow. I had to reread all this to really believe what I'm reading. Your giving up on this, Nick? I won't say that you can cause I'm not in your shoes....but ,think about it long and hard. Some decisions will haunt us forever. Once its gone, its gone. Either way I wish the best for you.
