'69 Fury III Convertible Build Thread- Project IVY

I have actually been tinkering when it hasn't been absolutely bitterly cold.....

I played with the rear brakes to see how things would fit, I still need to steal the auto adjusters from the original brakes, but I'm getting somewhere atleast.

I took the drums to work an machined them, they just need cleaned and painted now before I'm happy.

Picked up some rotors from the junkyard for $10, machined them to see if they'd clean up, I figure it couldn't hurt to have working brakes on the car for the first time since 2009, so these will do till I'm at the point where I'm ready to actually drive it. They are fairly thin as after sitting 40 years in a junkyard with the tires off, they kind of ended up pitted deeply. I figure they'll do for now though and have saved me some money anyway.

In all honesty Will, I usually do, I just wasn't sure if I would be able to get them clean and straight before they were under the minimum, it worked out okay, I've got them all cleaned and painted, just waiting for new front studs.

Weather on Tuesday was really nice, so I rolled my big friend outside while I cleaned up inside. It's shaping up, the trunk floor revamp version 2.0 is my current job, I've hacked a decent original trunk floor out of a '68 and will clean it up and put it in this car, I want to be able to not be ashamed of showing people the trunk floor. I want it show car quality. After the back half is done under neath bodywise I can pull the rear diff to fix a few things then I can detail up underneath the car and run some fuel and brakes lines along with my parking brake cables and prepare for some exhaust.

I First posted in this topic October 2012, I bought the car August 13th 2012, this August 13th I've owned my '69 for 4 years and my grandfather has been gone 13 years.

Now that the "greasy" stuff is done, the time has come to make your workshop super clean and organized. You can tell a lot about a man by looking at his tools.

I still have quite a bit of dirty work ahead, but I'm getting somewhere.

I made a decision that it was time to correct this so that this car can be as perfect as I want it to be......

TEST FIT!!!! Measure 250 times, cut 1/8th of an inch off at a time till you're sure......

Also self etch primed what had cured.
