THE STORY GOES THIS CAR WAS BROUGHT UP HERE FROM FLORIDA FROM THE GRANDFATHER'S FAMILY WHO STOPPED DRIVING. THE FATHER AND SON TURNED THIS IN A SEMI HOT ROD AND THEN MOVED ON TO ANOTHER PROJECT WHEN I GOT IT. WHAT THEY DID WAS BRAND NEW TIRES ALL THE WAY AROUND. NEW MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE SHOES. FULL TUNE UP AND FLUID CHANGE. THE BAD IS SEMI GLOSS PAINTED BODY WHEN THE COLOR WAS FACTORY BROWN, LOAD CHERRY BOMB EXHAUST OUT THE SIDES, AND PATCHED THE FLOOR PANS AND TRUNK PAN WITH METAL PIECES. THE CAR STARTS, DRIVES, AND STOP.IT CAN BE DRIVING BUT I WOULD TRAILER. THE TITLE HAS 38,000 ON IT AND THAT'S WHAT YOU WILL BE BUYING, A NJ 38000 MILEAGE TITLE. THERE IS RUST BUT OVER ALL REPAIRABLE AND RESTORABLE SO PLEASE COME DOWN AND LETS MAKE A DEAL.

Ouch, what a mess.

if it is a factory 6. I would leave it just like it is. restore the interior, give her a factory color paint job. the only thing different I would do is, duel exhaust out the back. Bigger carb and maybe a mild cam.

It's a Fury I - Gran Coupe combo. You would have to check tags to find out what belongs and what doesn't. The front end and seats are from a Gran Coupe. Engine - Fury 1, transplant ??? Rear bumper is high line... door panels are low line... Not much is original 38,000 mile car.

You nailed it but at the very least it had to be a Fury II (/6 standard) Good eye.
The Fury Gran Coupe had a 383-2 as standard.

Since he said it used to be brown, I'm guessing it looked like this:

The six is correct for the VIN:

If someone pulled strings to have his Fury II built as a Gran Fury or pulled strings to have a Gran Fury stuffed with a six and no options, that could be a 1 of 1 car.

I see rust, but not much rot. Pillars look good. Rockers are rougher than I'd like. No idea what happened with that back end. It says obo. If I could grab it for a grand I might consider it, but the S/23 in the same price range is way more tempting.

Anybody ever drive a C body with a slant 6? I think merging onto a freeway would be an adventure.

Exactly what I saw...and think.
