A 45 year old GM Time Capsule

Wow, that'll be great - hope there's no flack about what's a GM doing on the FCBO forum.... But if you feel it's ok, how about naming it "A 45 year old GM Time Capsule"

We're all car guys here.. It's cool with me.. In moderation of course. It's a GM on a Mopar site after all..

Love the Caddy! If it wasn't for the 300, that's probably what I'd be restoring. I learned to drive in my mother's '75 4-door Sedan DeVille. Once you learned to parallel park that beast, you could parallel park anything.

Love the 60's Caddy's. I just can't look at them without wanting one. Congratulations, yours is a real beauty. :usflag:

Congratulations on a sweet score! Cool car with a cool story. You are a lucky guy. I got to drive a 70's Caddy with the 500 inch engine when I had my permit.

Funny thing for me was.. That when I was looking to get back into a classic, my eye was on a 63-64 deville or Fleetwood.

BUT !!! Then I saw my NYB.. And rest is history as they say.

But do love this caddy's.. Great score, beautiful car. Enjoy....

This car is a real find, low miles, excellent condition, 2 door, white with Red interior !

Reminds me of The Caddy in the final scenes of Thunderbolt and Lightfoot except that was a convert and a little newer.

Also reminds me of the movie Tin Men which is a really good move

Wow that is a stunning Caddy! The color combo and the fact it's a 2 door make it mega cool.

If the engine hasn't been started in all those years, you might think about popping the valve covers off and smacking the rocker arms with a mallet, also pull the plugs and squirt something into the cylinders to lubricate them, if you haven't already started it.

Awesome score!

65Fury440 - did all you suggested with the exception of the mallet. When we drained the oil it was like brand new oil. After it was a new engine and only driven from the dealership to the house and stored. With two depressions of the gas pedal this eingine fires up litterally on 1 crank or turn of the flywheel. You've seen those Lexus commercials where they place a glass of water on the hood with the engine running... that's how smooth and quiet this car is. It's unbelievably quiet - literally can't hear a thing. With the windows rolled up you can't hear or feel any vibration of the engine nor hear any exterior wind noise whatsoever. The ride and handling is so smooth. This car is truly a cruiser and is a pure pleasure to drive.

I'll post some better pics once the car is detailed -

Please use your uncanny luck to find me one of these 1966 GM Buick Riveria beauties in the same condition and miles as your unbelieveable Cadillac:

At the risk of being blasphemous, I feel the circa 1965 - 66 GM designs were the best in the industry, kind of like 1970 - 71 was for Chrysler designs (Forward Look cars aside), never to be matched again since for either company IMHO.

I agree... that's areal bummer... I guess I'll just have to sell it now :BangHead: BUT since the clock & second hand works... I think I'll keep it!

I don't know about the others but I did wonder what your intentions were with the car?

Hell... since everyone is putting in their order, here's my request.
