Build sheet..!!

You have to think like an archaeologist. What level would it be? What other trash from your house would be associated with it? Do you use a certain size bag? How was it tied? A little digging in the right spot and you might get lucky.

I would look like a total idiot looking through a dumpster where I live. Pretty up scale neighborhood. But I'm still thinking about it.

Well, I went to look for it and no way. I would have to remove all the trash into another dumpster one by one. It is packed to the top and looks to be a 30 yard dumpster. This sucks. Live a learn.

Just tell them your wife lost a ring and you have them all helping.

I hear all of you, but it was tossed the day before Halloween. The Dumpster from that time was already picked up over a week ago. She said I'm sorry hun,... "I didn't see any writing on it and thought it fell out of the Halloween decoration boxes". Yes, it was important to me to have the build sheet, but she is more important to me. Mistakes happen and I'm pissed at myself for not putting it in a safe place, but I move on.

That's a good attitude to have !!! :eek:ccasion14: I hope I did not get too carried away with my humor ( or maybe lack thereof ) if so my apologies :eek:ops:

Goes to show the importance of a "man cave" .....! Anything taken out of there and disposed of is grounds for divorce with no entitlement.

:beerchug: And the garage is off limits unless she is getting or returning the lawn mower or snow blower !!!! :eek:s_dancing2:

Thanks guys! I'm bummed about it and I know a build sheet is a cool thing to have with your car. I did have one for a little while..!! LMAO. *****,..J/K.

Just so you know that you are not the only one out there.

Well before I even knew what a broadcast sheet was I was working on my Barracuda installing a stereo and I felt a piece of paper above the glovebox and ripped it out, in that very second I realized the value of it and managed to recover the rest. Right away I pieced it back together with tape on the backside and put it in a protective sheet protector (no one would think that is trash).

Now fast forward several years I have torn the car down to the bare shell for restoration and spotted a near perfect one in the back seat. I told myself I would need to be careful to protect it when I got the seat ready for upholstery and left it there. Again fast forward several more years (this car was apart 15+ years) and I had the car in storage in my brothers back yard and left the back seat sections in the car, when I went to work on the car (again several years later) I found that rats have mad a home in my seat using the broadcast sheet. I had no idea how easy it was to lift the springs and slide it out, at least I have the other one.

Hmm,.maybe there is another one hidden in the car??

Cars can have multiple, they followed sub assemblies down the line, they were seen as trash by the factory not important documentation.
The common places to find them are in the back seat bottom, front seat back (bucket), top of the glove box, under the carpet, under front seat (not as common), headliner (also not as common).

On my CHP car I discovered a new place I never heard about, under the package tray (behind the seat back board)

Didn't somebody here find one in between the frame and the front bumper bracket?

type "70 300 Hurst" in the search section, scroll down till you see the 2nd 70 300 hurst and you may find some help with getting one. Mine is a F Series from 1970. I bought a blank one from ebay for $20. I do have my old one but it is about to fall apart. I just wanted one to put in my binder to show a before and after picture. good luck.
