Yes this car. before Dave bought that car from Carmine it had bounced around a bit. Being Citron Yella it definitely stood out on the C body boards.

I'm glad it's safe with Dave

what? What did you say?

The 155mm (95 lb bullet) is the medium variant of artillery.

The 203mm know as 8 inch (205 lb bullet) is the heavy variant of artillery.

I guess no one around here has ever fired a M110A2 Howitzer.

Of course those weights don't include the powder, fuse, and primer to send it down range.

Not to take away the amazing fire power that Bob (And thanks for your service Bob) and the Army were using, but if you really want to talk bigguns, go online and check out the 16 inch 2500 pound bullets that the Iowa class battleships were firing. 25 mile range and dropping them within 100 yards of there target! Taking into account the earth's rotation, time and distance of flight of the projectile, wind and speed of the ship. Pretty amazing, considering the computers they used were the size of a one bedroom apartment, and designed in the late 1930's!
Isn't America GREAT!

Carlisle got what they wanted and needed from all of us -- MONEY.... if they keep getting involved in ventures that lose a lot of money -- they are going to put themselves in a heck of
a situation -- and sooner rather than later.... Their Auburn, Indiana venture failed, the Bloomsburg, Pa. venture failed, the Zephyr Hills / Lakeland, Fla. venture is failing...
Their tearing down half of Carlisle to build a hotel / strip mall / casino is in serious trouble.... Don't want to see Carlisle die .... but .....

As far as a "C" Body being a boat --- Oh no, they do not float on water -- they may be a "land yacht" or a "tank" but definitely not a "boat".... (Just thinkin')

If you ever get through Wilmington N.C. go tour the U.S.S North Carolina, the amount of gyros, compasses, and the above stated one bedroom apt. computer it is amazing they hit anything at all. Meanwhile your smart phone could probably do the same thing.

Technology sure is amazing today but it had to start somewhere. Even during the Viet Nam war the New Jersey was parked off shore and lobbing apples at the NVA along the DMZ from miles away, helping out the ground troops under the guidance of the FAC's who were flying nothing more than military Cessna 170's.
My hats off to all who served in the military!
Thank You!

The 8 inch gun was originally a Naval Gun...

Somebody with brains decided to put it on a tank chassis and send it to the Army.

The 8 inch is the most accurate artillery piece in the world!

It is also nuclear capable too. When President Reagan told the Russians that we would use tactical battlefield nukes in Europe during the Cold War he was specifically talking about the M110A2 8 inch Howitzer.

I bought it from the guy who bought it from Carmine...it is a 2bbl car with a 4bbl added. I bought it because I thought it was neat with a eye for my kids to drive but that never happened.
