C-bodies in France.

Wait a second. How come you don't have one of these cool looking classics :)

General consensus was early cars didn't have them on the tag but were on the build sheet..........

So, how can a car have an option like the A12 and it not be on the Broadcast sheet? OR any option for that matter...Unless it was dealer installed

It is on the broadcast sheet. Row 6 at the left side. Section "A" lists option packages. I see A01, Light Package and A12...

I have a huge artist wholesale near by and they sell a black coated solid board (I'm not sure if this is the right translation?!) It's "beschichtete vollpappe" in german. Maybe you can find the correct counterpart in france!

Sounds like the right material. Just go in to any art supply store and they should have what you want.

Thanks Kevin, when that post was made I was passing along information from another thread ( I believe) and I hadn't seen this sheet..nor was I referring to it.
But asking a question to another's statement

I'm guilty of that too. If I start reading a thread that's been going for several pages, more than once I've jumped in to answer a question only to read on later and find that the point has already been addressed, so I'm left sitting at the keyboard feeling like an idiot.

This is all old news, but I throw it in again anyway. The broadcast sheet is computer generated and printed out at several points along the line (as well as partial sheets with just the codes for a specific section of the line), and they contain all the information about anything related to the car where there's a choice. Obviously not not sheet metal, or most other hard parts. The tag under the hood (be it mounted on the cowl, inner fender or rad yoke) is filled out by a guy on the line operating the machine that makes the tags. What goes on the tag is pretty much at his discretion. Normally "A" code packages aren't listed. In the case of A01, the light group, usually the component parts(lamps) of the package are listed. But maybe at some point, the guy operating the machine was either told or felt the need to start including A12 on the plates.

I ran into the same thing with my Aspen Sportwagons. They don't have the "A" code for the package on the plates, but there are codes that are unique to the cars that do show up.

I have never seen a Superlite code on a tag but other L codes show up all the time.

Superlite is L36?

Does the lite bolt through an otherwise `stock' grille, or is the grille specific to a superlite ?

Yes, L36 ............. and the grille is specific. The light and bracket is different from 69 to 70 and obviously Monaco and Polara grilles were different. A lot of part numbers there

The interior trim code is on the 2nd line up from the bottom, and will be the 2nd set of letters and numbers from the left.

You really should have a parts catalog for your car (in '69 it was two volumes). Chrysler was notorious for specifying a single colour on the paint & trim tag and then using several shades of that colour throughout the car. If you're looking for the exact match, that's the way to determine it.

thanks. i'll check it.
i only have the repair manual. i will look on imperialclub.com i think they have it...

I started last week to change my old carpet...

1st thing to do : take the car out and open the doors to remove the seats and bench.
The seats are so heavy... I hurt my back, for few days :/
Image_2.jpg

take the old carpet out. it was time.
Image_9.jpg

when I checked the color on stockinteriors I ordered the wrong color but it is not a big deal.
it will be perfect too. I took midnight blue instead of some other blue.
Image_10.jpg

I have redone the front 2 years ago. I thought I done the rear.
Image_11.jpg

obviously not. :D
this little joke make me lost a week, I do not have the tools on site and I do not want to put a new carpet on something like this. It is WAY better than it looks on this picture. only surface rust and old steel cover.
Image_001.jpg

yesterday I took out the rust, put treatment ( rustol ) and I will apply tar sheets like it was.
I did it on the front and it still looks like new
Image_12.jpg

( yes yo ucan see on this pic my personnel wired ignition switch. I replaced it yesterday too( the car would not start and it was it that ) .

rapid preview of final work. I just put the carpet in the car to see what it will render. I will probably finish it today.

I had a faulty oil pressure too, I grouned the wire and my gauge jumped to the max so I bought a new sending unit. i think i'll get it next week.Image_005.jpg
