Carlisle 2016

Wow Will! That's looks like the Taj Mahal of 1968 campers!

More pictures when you get them. QUOTE]

Thanks Bob. I got it home yesterday. 2600 mile round trip. I'm the 2nd owner, it hadn't left the property in over 30 years. I took a pair of new tires, repacked the wheel bearings and adjusted the brakes........ She towed like a dream. I don't think the Admiral will have any trouble towing it.

Notice ..... she wore a pair of 1969 Chrysler 300 wheel covers for the trip home.

As a last minute thought we flew up in 2014 and had a great time. But are there more events in the evening after the fairgrounds shut down?

Every year I say ``This is the year!`` and I wind up having to work...so This year I`ll say ``No friggin way I`m getting there`` and I`ll probably make it...

Congratulations on a great score on a little piece of Americana, Will.
Is that the original interior or did the previous owner update it.
That blue stove is great.

Wow! That camper is in super condition!

Thanks Stan, The interior, aside from the carpet, is all original. I'll need to reupholster the cushions, new curtains and a new mattress, but all else just needs a good cleaning. The fridge door is also blue.
I got it by being , first, lucky. And then by being persistent. The original owner was slow at returning communications, not in a hurry to sell. All turned out well though. He used to tow it with a 69 AMX......

I see some "Tin Can Tourist" events in out future.

That camper will make Carlisle a little more enjoyable for you and Ellie!

I know what it still needs.
A period correct awning.

I love this pic ....... Ellie and I at Carlisle in a couple of years.

I have located a supplier for an awning just like this one, blue & white stripe pole awning with scallops. Can even opt for fringe.

Ellie found this pair of vintage cast aluminum pink Flamingo's the other day too....
Meet Lucy & Ricky.

Going forward into the past. I love it!

By the way, how many clichés can you find in the picture starting with the old man exposing his balls.
There's a hundred of them.
Needs to be mounted on the wall along with Dogs Playing Poker.
