We didn't receive and paperwork on the way home yesterday, but we hit several episodes of torrential down pour. It slowed much of the traffic down and a 70's Demon we had been running with exited during the first storm. Rain-X is a wonderful thing. I always make sure the windshield has a good coating before the trip to Carlisle.

Made it home, but not before having a friendly chat with a Minnesota State Trooper 58 miles short of home. Oh well, that's the worst of my weekend, and I'll take that any day. A little over 2700 miles put on, and I loved every one of them, can't wait to do it again next year!

A ticket for 10 over ! What was the cop a Chevy owner and he was jealous because his car won't go that fast?
I'm glad I didn't get caught at peak speed on the trip home.

75 in a 65? Did he lower it or is that what you were doing? In Arizona they give you 11 over before they ticket.

Ten over the limit. . . Dayum! That is how I drive all the time. . . Or were you really doing eighty-five, and he cut you a break?

He knocked it down from 78 in a 65. I was just wondering if I could zip through the town I was in at that speed, turns out I couldn't. Just saw a Charger fly up on my bumper (said it was the right tools for the job). He was a nice guy just doing his job, and I got away with much higher speeds this weekend, just hours before as a matter of fact. Been awhile since I donated to the Policeman's ball.

We should also ask @bnz84 to bring his 440-6 1969 Fury 'vert up Rt 97 from Maryland to Carlisle next year. Imagine that, three triple-black RB fusie 'verts next to one another!

That's my plan. This year the hospital job, the fact that I have a job when many don't, and my retired parents are keeping me from concentrating on my to do list. I'm lucky I live close but I probably take it for granted and often leave at 3 to go to an air conditioned brewery. Not very social I know. But nonetheless it still is kind of a pilgrimage. Park far away, wear a dumb hat, walk up the hill, sweat out a pound and replace it with a Big Smokey(with everything). If I don't have a stain on my shirt then I'm not doing my job. Gotta stop at a "tool" vendor and buy something I really don't need. And try to figure out what is for sale now that will fetch 6 figures later. I remember walking the corral in high school and seeing this strange but cool car for 19K. Crazy, crazy money. It was an untouched Shelby GT350 convertible. That was the beginning of my following Carroll Shelby and eventually led to mopars. My friends had Chevys and I got so tired of talking about Camaros. Ironically it was a 71 black Monaco convertible I saw maybe 25 years ago that made me decide a C-body was in my future. Good to see people had a good time. Dang, now I'm thinking about head up next weekend just for the brewery.

Milage went down to 8.88 when I was moving through Wisconsin today, but I made good time, maps said 5 hours and 16 minutes. With the cop stop, and two gas stops that were leisurely, I made it home in 5 hours and 41 minutes, five minutes later than I wanted. Traffic was the main reason for moving swiftly, and I obliged.

You gotta work on that. Send that carb to Woodruff's and set the total timing at 36@3500 then reconnect vacuum advance.
That will save you enough for 2 tickets.
