So, many of you who go to Carlisle know that this coming year in 2020 Carlisle is NOT celebrating 1970 c-body cars. I emailed Mr. Buczeskie (the event manager) and asked him why. He surprisingly replied back and said this, and I quote......
"Typically when I do my anniversary displays, I do it based on the first year of a certain model. I don’t typically celebrate each model year – at least not in the buildings. You mentioned 1970 C-Bodies specifically and that is probably my favorite year for C-Bodies. I would certainly love to have a bunch of them at the show but I just won’t have room inside this year due to all of the 50th anniversary displays that you mentioned in your email. I definitely want to celebrate the C-Bodies again but the only way I can do anything next year would be outside. Maybe we can call out to the C-Body community and get a bunch of ‘70s to register??
If you have any ideas for an outdoor display, please let me know. Regardless, I will continue to plan for a future indoor display of C-Bodies."
I said/suggested..... If Carlisle were to have a little somethin' somethin' outside specifically for the c-body, I would say feature all c-bodies from 1965 because that was the first year for the c-body platform, to 1971 because it will be 2021. I would also say have a "special section" of 1970 and 1971 models like the Sport Fury GT/S23 and Chrysler 300 in particular. Just a thought. Otherwise really I don't know.
MIND YOU I DID NOT SEND MY MESSAGE BACK YET, I WANNA SEE WHAT ALL YOU THINK FIRST!!
So, what do you all think!!???. I'd like to see what you all who go to Carlisle think/say. I could let Mr. Buczeskie know what everyone says if you'd like to.
