yes, rooms are way overblown, too bad i couldn't get her boss to give the empl rate, which is $45! And apparently GM is having a huge thing this year, someone from GM Corporate reserved half of their rooms for the GM weekend, I think for their 100 anniv

The Hampton Inn that I referenced was $130 a night and that was full price. Very nice place too.

I cant leave where I am at. Been there too long, its like home. Besides the indoor pool is huge, the kids and I love it

remember, everything is priced for that weekend, look at the weekends when there is no show, it's a lot cheaper

and the shows have taken a beating the last 5 or so yrs, have not seen the people out that we used to see. I remember buying a 1967 ambassador NOS DPL grille @ the 2003 show, and it was so busy we walked that day, abt 1.5 miles to the show from my apt in town, and had to walk all the way back with the grille...........funny part is, i didn't mind it one bit. Grille is still sitting here, in the orig box..........which reminds me - anyone know of somebody looking for one?

ASAP, many places are usually booked by now. Last year I was there Wednesday night through Sunday. The unofficial start of the show is Thursday. So you are allowed on the grounds throughout the week and can wander Thursday through some disorganization buy thats when you find the hard to find items in the swap meet

Dan, if I were you I'd try Chambersburg or Harrisburg for rooms, chambersburg is 1/2 hr south on 81 but a lot quieter ride up to Carlisle.

And let me extend the invitation that if anyone is coming, they are welcome to park their car @ my house on friday and saturday and carpool over with someone else or I may be able to give you a ride depending on the timing. i'm 1 mile from gate 3

I normally stay Friday and Saturday night. I make my reservations this month but I make sure they are not the forfeit the cash if I cancel reservations. A lot of places will offer the same room a little cheaper if they have the no cancel policy attached. I won't take that risk even though I know I'm going for sure. One never knows what can happen in the future.

Chris, I just made reservations at the Hampton Inn @ Chambersburg $130 @ night. Nice place, I've been there before.
