We stayed at the Hampton Inn, Carlisle......gotta great deal through my credit car. It was really nice place. They had a huge game room with a pool table on the 2nd level, snacks, flat screen and other amenities to boot.

Looks like a nice place Gary.

The hotel that we stay at has a decent evening hour nite life outside in the parking lot. My dad and I sit in chairs chatting with car guys walking by . The year we hated being there was the year the PT cruiser club were there with 70 cruisers in the parking lot, we stayed indoors.

Haha, yeah I've seen them. I saw one in a supermarket parking lot with all kinds of phony chrome looking stickers around darkened out rear windows. The back end was tilted up a bit and it had those "step" shelves like you see on pick up trucks sometimes. absolutely HORRID. I Chrysler was aiming for a niche market, but I never like the design anyways, thought it was ugly from the very start. HaHa.....40 yrs from now they'll fetch 200K from people looking to restored them to factory stock condition. :BangHead:

I had about 20 guys from the Northeast Hemi Owners Association staying at my hotel. Noise that I love to hear. It was nice to sit in the lawn chair after the sun went down.......seemed a lot cooler. I had a lot of them coming up and looking at the NY'er too.

How far from the car show are these hotels that have been recommended?

The Hampton Inn in Chambrsburg is about 34 miles away, it takes about a 30 minutes to get there. What I like about it is that I get away from the traffic around Carlisle, easy access to resturants, and I don't have to worry about my car being parked in the parking lot. I can get my car up to highway speed and drive around a little before going to the show the next morning.

Hey Bob, what decent restaurants are near there? I'm ok with getting away from the mob at night.

Years ago I used to be a vender at the Chryslers at Carlisle event. I drifted away from selling but have maintained my three spaces through the years. I have not attended the past two years but sub rented my spaces to my vendor neighbor.

I'm leaning toward attending this July and plan on just camping on my spaces. We like breakfast at the diner across the street, lunch from the conessions, (love the amish chicken corn soup, or Duke's riviera supper club) and usually will cook something at our space for dinner. A small tent, air mattress, cooler, chairs, easy up and personal items for travel dosen't leave a lot of room in the car for parts to sell. So if any of you want to unload a few things your welcome to us my spaces. Or share space for a small tent to camp.

We love it. Don't have to deal with the traffic, and hanging out at the fairgrounds in the evenings is a whole different deal then the daytime. Last time we went there was a drive in movie with some great old car flix's to watch set up on the show field. Lots of stories, (mostly lies), are shared too.

Wow, I bet that was super cool! I counted only one or two other Chrysler muscle cars parked at my hotel. There weren't many parking lots available as the place was booked solid.

I spent more time outside the hotel in the parking lot than I did in the hotel.

The Hotel Carlisle is probably 6 to 8 miles away from the entrance to the fairgrounds. Plenty of places to go to up and down 81. We usually only "go out" one night and that is to Hoss's steak house.
