That was the comment from the sheriff that pulled me over for speeding. Beautiful day in Ohio, 75 degrees, finished my exterior painting for the season and had Goldie on the road by 3:00.

I had been driving the country roads for over 1 1/2 hours, jumped on a newly paved state route it was like driving on glass it was so smooth and then I see the lights. Damn! He came back with a warning and said it was too nice of day and you have too nice of a car, couldn't give you a ticket if I wanted to. That is a first for me.

I was only 10 minutes from home, if I would have gotten a ticket, that would have ended the ride. Glad I didn't, drove until dark and put over 100 miles, and she drove beautifully.

A few years ago I headed west about 200 Miles from Omaha in the 66' Polara to pick up some parts from a friend for another car. All the way back, cops were behind me, to the side, etc for a long time. I finally got home, and opened the trunk of the car, and couldn't shake the thought that something looked funny. Then I noticed my License plate had expired 18 months earlier. Plus, the design of the new plates had changed, so A person would have been blind not to notice. Apparently my old C body dazzled them!

I had a similar experience tonight. He didn't ask for my registration, so when he ran my plates nothing came up, because they are registered with the historic tags which were in the trunk. He mentioned that the dispatcher could not find my registration with the old plates, he didn't seem to care and set me on my way. I don't think he had any intentions of writing a ticket, maybe just wanted a closer look.

If I get pulled over in one of the old cars the first thing I say is " are you writing or looking". The last officer didn't find that amusing one bit, my PBA cards bailed me out of a 60 in a 40......

If I were your officer Mike I'd pull that car over every day.....just lookin'

I was driving the 78 NYB to Green Bay, Wisconsin early springtime from Maryland. I was still in Maryland on I-70 West and I was in the left lane driving about 85 mph and it was about 4 am and still dark, A car came screaming out of no where and was on my rear bumper before I could move over to the right lane and slow down. The car wouldn't wait until I moved to the right and started to pass me on the right....I looked over to the right as he was passing me and he was a Maryland State Trooper. He gave me a salute as he sped down the road. I assume the U.S. Army Retired banner on my rear window may have had something to do with him not stopping me...or maybe he loves Formal's. LOL!

Last summer I stopped at a light in the right lane, with the city cops on the left. I asked the second cop if he had his pink slip!
He laughed and said I would kick their buts in any event. But he would gladly trade the vic for the GTX if he didn't need it for work! great guys! You can get away with that when your OLD.
