Will you need to fabricate anything Nick, or do you have donor patches for nearly all of it?
 
I wonder how a firewall can get so rotted....

Clogged drains...leads to organic material build up that sponges up moisture and salt ...and then rot comes. If the car was driven in the Ontario salt, then that is absorbed in the "soil" that is created in the cowl making it exponentially worse.

But you already knew that, didn't ya?

Yes I did Alan... lived in the Salt belt all my life... never seen it creep up into this area so badly though..
 
When you get done replacing everything you may need to change his name to Frankenstein, or just Frank so he doesn't have a complex. :)
 
It's funny, but as bad as the firewall, and front floors are, overall this car is very solid, I will need to replace the drivers rear door and have replacement fenders, but all the rest of the sheet metal is the same sheet metal the car left Delaware with.
 
If I saw that amount of rust, I would save myself a lot of time and section the entire cowl and front pillar posts off, it will save you many hours of work for sure considering you also have frame mount repairs to do too.
 
With some practice and patience you will be turning out metal repairs just like Wollfen:)

That firewall will be a challenge for sure, even with the donor metal. I spent many days and nights under the dash of my rusty GMC pickup welding up all the holes in the firewall and cowl, and it wasn't fun. The dash was welded to the body and it hampered access quite a bit. I lost track of how many burns I got from that part of the project.

Your build is particularly interesting to me because I have a 1973 Fury II sedan that's itchin' to become a police car, but I don't know if I'll ever be able to track down the particular light bar that I will need to pull off what I want to do.
