Hey Goose...I like the Eddy performer carb..plug and play..do you think the Eddy would work as well as the Holley in this app.,?
That Holley carb is an 1850 Holley 600 cfm with vacuum secondaries. Sorry I got stuck out in Death Valley. We had some big CAT iron we were taking care of. No phones out there. Kinda like the wasteland from mad max.
The edelbrock will work pretty good. I think they are a perfect bolt on and go carb. The idle screws are super easy to work with. No idea on the carb number just tell the guy you want a 500 or 600 (I'd go 6) universal carb with a mopar throttle adapter usually an extra $20.
And on the intake runner vs heads... your not building a stock eliminator with port matched this and that. It's true it's not the ultimate setup but like all the other guys said, If your gonna buy 202 heads then why not a whole 340 or 360 it just $nowballs. Everything I'm taking about is low or no buck. You can try an edelbrock performer 318 intake. I just say why bother when an old 340 cast iron will do the same for less. Just make sure it's 1970 or older. That way it's a square bore set up. I think there were 10 or 15 iron 340 intakes at the spring fling for 25 to 70 bucks. I got mine for $20. They literally didn't want to carry the heavy thing home. They're cheap compared to an old hi perf LD340 at $350 to 5 or 600 bucks and that or a torker type single plane would be overkill with no bottom end power. And that's all your looking for. No 318 wants to be a high rpm screamer keep it at low end power and you're golden.
I'm just saying you can do what you want for under $500. The carb will cost most of the projects budget. Don't go cheap and buy some worn out junk and a rebuild kit. That's a recipe for disaster. A new carb is a beautiful thing. If you buy a small universal one it's truly plug and play. Sorry again for disappearing but duty called.
Oh yah that adapter is just for testing 4 barrel carbs dirt cheap on 2 barrel intakes. Slap that sucker on bolt the carb on it and see if you like it. If you do and I bet you will then commit yourself and slap on that 4bbl intake. If not you can reverse everything you did without touching the 2V intake. If you can borrow a good working carb for testing even better... and cheaper!!
Good luck man. Just remember if you use the 2-4 adapter it's easily reversed back to stock. Take pics and let us know how it went.

Hey Goose..contrary to what people think, the last 10 winters where I live, just north of PA border and 30 miles east of Lake Erie, have been mild..When I was a kid growing up in the '50's, 60's we got some REAL snow..most people these days think their FWD sh**tboxes are the way to go..they just don't know ..Crown Vic PI with 4 studded snows and 320lbs sand in the trunk..I go just about anywhere..'67 C-Bodies are among my favorites..I'd give my eye-teeth for a nice'67 Polara 500..(make mine a 440)..Love that color combo. That blue goes great with the black top. Those are cool wheels too. Man I don't know how you guys do it in the snow !!! It's 50's out here and everyone is whining. This dude is parked in Trona. It's a living ghost town (maybe more zombie apocalypse town )gateway to Death Valley.
