Engine codes

The difference between a 116 U and a 118 U could be simply exhaust manifolds - not sayin' that IS the difference, just that it's possible.
Differences between a 115-116 B/E U-code & a 117-118 C U-code is in fact the exhaust manifolds, oil pan & valve covers. Also fuel pump may be different as C-bodys all had 5/16th fuel line (even the V-code SFGT). I believe all B/E body 440 cars had 3/8th fuel line in 1970.

sorry everyone I do not have the information yet. As soon as I get it I'll give it to you.

Hi everyone sorry for the delay !! I am in vacation so I went to see the car and I took the picture of the number above the oil pan.

I have some other questions :
- what is the corret compression to get on a 440 ? I saw between 180 and 200 psi. It is correct ?

- does anyone have a fuel gauge and temp gauge for sale ? The fuel gauge wire was broken, i tried to rewire it with other wire but it did not do anything when i put 5v at the back. I tried to rewire with the rest of the original unbroken wire but did not get much result ( needle was moving but not above middle ). Is it possible to rewire it ? What kind of wire is it ?

If my 440 had between 180 and 200 psi I would be soo happy
IF you had that much compression, you might be seeking out "racing fuel" rather than normal gasoline, I suspect.

To me, a compression test is more about how the numbers relate to each other than the numbers themselves. Altough higher is better. Camshaft timing, in addition to altitude and whether or not the test was done with the carb at WOT, can affect the ultimate numbers, too.

Just some observations,
