there is a C here (in the forum but maybe not in this thread) where someone did what you describe.
i used to know a guy years ago that built one of these. yes, an "M", but like "C"s, it likes 5x4.5, 4 in bksp. '80's mirada/cordoba alloys on C's are all over this thread and are a painless swap if one likes that 5/10 spoke design.
the 2006 and later model 5 x 4.5 in. (114.3 mm) b.p.Charger 17's will generally fit, but offset is much more positive than anything OEM C's ever had.
to make this M work, they did a buncha mods (to get all the ride/handling benefits of the body/chassis transplant they did).
But, without all that, you still may need spacers to "offset" the wheel offset (i would guess 6 to 7+ in. bksp depending on width of that wheel -- 8 to 10 in.?) for suspension clearance on a "C", and/or to avoid that 'spindly-leg' look "modern" offset wheels tend to display when used on vintage ('60's to '90's) cars.
