Front Disc Conversion Kits for a 14" wheels?

Hello. My 1964 Dodge custom 880 has 14" inch wheels and I don't want to upgrade to 15" wheels. Can anyone recommend front disc conversion kits that work with 14" wheels...most 1964 mopar kits requires at a minimum 15" wheels.

Look around through the forums on this site, there is a LOT of info. on this conversion, and really good advice. The kits differ widely in terms of quality and stopping power. I THINK I read that Willwood has a kit for 14" wheels, but don't quote me on it. Good luck.

If you want to keep your 14in hubcaps? You can use disc brake 14in rims from a 73 up dart or scamp with disc brakes. Or 14in rallye wheels with your hubcap

Exactly lol. I really don't feel like looking for some original hubcaps for 15" wheel.

I was thinking I used the front disc's off of an A body when I did my 60 Dodge Dart back about 20 years ago. What ever I used, they work fine with the stock 14" wheels. If I remember correctly it was 78-80 Dodge Aspen. I'm sure there are others and quite possibly the aftermarket these days.

I bought 1/4 inch wheel spacers, which pushed the rim out far enough where the rim didn’t rub the caliper.

Interesting. Did the spacer have proper indents for the lugs and leave enough stud thread contact area to be safe? What Manufacturer did you use? Thanks

Technically, I believe a 1978 Dodge Aspen is an F-body. A-body ended production in 1976

I’m not sure it was the Bear brand. I used the SSBC kit and th wheel rubbed the caliper. That spacer moved the wheel out enough to keep from rubbing.

These guys have been around for a long time and were one of the first to offer a conversion using a bracket and brake parts off of other makes. I run an older conversion not meant for 14" wheels but it has worked great and been reliable. On the other hand you will get a number of people here that don't like scarebird in general so be sure to get both sides as to why. Some of the concern is related the machined spacer that allows the rotor to center on the spindle. No doubt not a factor style.
