Fuel pick up 3/8

Hi fellow C:s. Does anyone know if b-body 3/8 pick up would fit a c-body tank? Have a 69 new yorker. or any other solution to upgrade to 3/8.

No it will not fit a C body. That’s why they are different part numbers. It has to reach the bottom of the tank so they are specific.

Why do you think you need it? Drag racing 11 second quarter Mile? High RPM driving?

Haha not really but since i want new stuff there is no harm in upgrading to 3/8. It was in my opinion a bit thin from start withv5/16. Risk of vapor lock etc. Done it on a b-body with good result not needing return unit or regulator.
 
Most C-Bodies ran a 5/16" line. If I remember correctly, there was a 3/8" line and pick up offered on the '70 SFGT with the 6BBL option and as an option on some 440HP police cruisers.

Going to upgrade the REST of the fuel lines to 3/8" also? All the way to the fuel pump.

In one respect, the normal 5/16" line would have a bit higher velocity of the flow through it than the same volume in a 3/8" line. Which could also mean the slower-flowing fuel in the 3/8" line would have more time to absorb heat on the way to the pump.

How much time will be spent with the fuel at "max flow" capacity?

Just considering some of the dynamics of the situation,

Yeah i dont think its a big deal on a original c with 440. It will prob work pretty good with 5/16. But since im going to replace everything i mean why not.

It's not a good idea to route the fuel line next to the exhaust. An electric fuel pump also prevents this issue if mounted by the tank.
 
Fredrik, did you ever find a 3/8" sending unit for your 69 New Yorker? I need a new one for my 68 and it looks like the fuel tanks are the same on 68 and 69.
Hi Wissaman, sorry for late reply. I decided not to do the upgrade. When i cleaned everything up it looked very good so im letting it be for now. Been lots of work redoing, radiator, rear axel and exhaust to say the least :)
