Fun or Cool places you have driven Your Car to

It was supposed to take place in Malibu .... I have no idea if it actually did. Curious to see what it looks like now.

I haven't yet had the pleasure of a long trip in the Imp yet so here we are on Woodward Avenue just a few blocks from my shop, one of the koolest places for a car guy to take his or her C-body.

I've driven My Chryslers across most of Canada and I've been through the mid-west of the USA...beautiful countryside and great cruising.

I drove my Challenger from San Diego to Pittsburgh in 1988 that's how it got here no pictures but there is a whole stack of fuel receipts, the old ones with the roller and the carbon paper inside. That was a hell of a trip slepping in the car left about 10 am Friday was in Pgh 7 pm Sunday night.

Ya get what ya pay for...... But it takes time & experience to figure that out.
When you take panels to a shop that specializes in automotive restoration ,pay them up front and they do dick for 4 months................I paid more than a fair amount to get a few rustfree panels straightened out (dings, not even dents)...............................I'm done with that BS.

I know you have a passion for Rockford but how would you know that?
Eventually I plan to visit the location, maybe with a certain rusty pile of crap.

Last year I drove to the Nats, I had to go pull it from the upholstery shop to even do that. The best trip however, was the first day it was road worthy. I planned on just making a short trip to town on a cool December, top down heater blaring.

100+ miles later I showed up just before sunset back at my shop. My face hurt from smiling all day. That was a very good day and remember it like yesterday.

Although not my Polara In 2009 I took a 2200 mile (round trip) road trip in my Barracuda, till this trip the car had never been more than 240 miles from home. This trip took me through San Francisco and up the northern California coast that I have not done before.

From there I continued up the coast through Eureka and the Oregon coast ending up in the Portland Oregon area. I made this trip largely to show the car to a friend that restored all the aluminum and stainless trim on the car. After that I returned through the eastern Oregon area by Mount Hood and along the Deschutes River.

After that I continued south and took a detour to see Crater Lake.

That was the penny tour, plenty more pictures here.

As for my C-Body, the 1400 mile trip home with the car was a fun trip.

In Anaconda Montana where I got the car.

I love to drive and am always looking for cool places to go and take pictures of my cars.

Anywhere I go is cool, but that's cause I love the car. I'm hoping to take the car to South Dakota in September for a car show, see the sights on the way there and back.
