Fuselage - Drums to Disc Brake Conversion

The pin type are sought after from Cordobas for the large brake conversion on 68 - 70 B bodies for instance (see Disc-o-tech). I don't know about C bodies but presume they are too. Both pin and slider will work with correct parts

Gary, maybe you can contact the seller and ask if the brackets are Pin OR Slider style. If you ordered the calipers from RA, they're the Pin style.

I'm having heart attachs with all this last minute stuff.

So is this where I'm gonna be where I'll need that special fork tool? I mean I see two big castle nuts holding this thin on..one on top and one on the bottom.

Go back and reread this thread. There's videos on how to separate the upper ball joint without a pickle fork.

I thought you were going to reuse the bottom ball joint??? There's no reason to separate the lower joint otherwise.

Right ok. I forgot about the videos. I bought that big *** sledge hammer specifically for this part. And yes I want to keep my lower ball joints they seem to be fine. The rubber boots on the upper and lowers look almost brand new so I guess the pickle fork thing might destroy them.

You aren't going to separate the lowers.

Don't think I need too...after clearing all the grime and crap off the rubber boots still look nice...like new actually. No breaks or rips....both the bottom and top boots.

ah well, looks like Im gonna need that pickle fork any how...been wacking hard at this thing and its not even flinching. Not a bad thing I guess, another new tool for my ever growing stash. Samplingman made a good suggestion about the one he picked up at Harbor freight..

CORRECT as Big_John said, NO NEED to separate Lower Ball Joint, IF YOU ARE NOT CHANGING - I've updated instructions just now to reflect this via New Update 04/09/16 @ 9:15 AM Page-9 #166
