Get your Hankook Optimo H724 WW tires while you can!

Smart. I grabbed some Hankook 15s last year for the 67 Lincoln. I could not get the WW in canada so got them from Discount Tire and shipped up. Still have not mounted them. Both the 300 and Newport have Cooper Trendsetter SE WW and the WW just looks right on the car.

Yeah the Hankooks have been drying up for a while.
Ditto GT Radial Max Touring which is on the Boab. I bought one of the last sets of 23570r15...

The newly opened Bridgestone Tire Shop a half mile from my Office is selling thin-stripe WWT new. I have not stopped there to see what they are or what the price. But it did catch my attention!

I just ordered a set of Cooper Trensetter white wall tires for my '66 300 convertible from Summit Racing. They are 235-75 X 15. Supposed to be delivered tomorrow. Hoping they work out. . .

If you check them out, please follow up here. Thin stripe is what I'm looking for. Preferably 3/8" to 1/2". 5/8" would work but prefer the thinner WW.

On the Hankook website, the Optimo H724 ist still listed and it doesn't look like it is being discontued at all. Unfortunately, it is no longer stated if certain sizes come with WW stripe or not.

The "Mastercraft A/S IV" seems to be a Cooper low-budget brand. So I guess it is the Trendsetter SE's cousin. In 235/75-15 it has a thin white wall stripe and I think it dosn't look too bad:

Then thre is a NEXEN N'Priz NH5 that also has a slim white wall in 235/75-15. Despite its more modern sidewall design it doesn't look bad either:

Does anyone have any experience with the Mastercraft or the Nexen?

Bridgestone is one of the few brands that Costco carries....

Same company I got mine from, Discount Tire (name apparently varies with location). The price I locked last week was $55 per tire, now it’s indeed up to $66–the quote you got. They honored their sale price, which is worth praising — they’ll be installed tomorrow afternoon!

I talked with the man at Chico Tire and Wheels. He is, indeed, selling white wall tires in the thin variety. They are Toyo Eclipse tires. His price for 235/ 754/15, mounted and balanced, is $95.00 each.

So, I stopped by my local tire shop tonight to see if he would Price Match what everyone is finding for these tires. He avoids selling Hankook tires anymore because he has had so many of them come in...OLD! Meaning their date of manufacture was 4-5 and even 6 years ago. Everyone gobbling these up ought to be checking the date code on what they are buying. The current standard is between 6yrs and 10yrs as the safe use span of tires. Not all decay is visible. That last bit is why people nag me about my 25 year old tires.

Since my '72 Wagon mostly sits, I want as young a tire as possible if I am going to spring for new tires.

I am attaching a PDF from NHTSA.

Oh, and he gets his tires from the local distribution hub for the DC/Baltimore area.

Does Cooper still offer the Trendsetter WW version? Has anyone tried those?

I like the Trendsetter SE WWs. The size is of course 235/75-R15.

PS. The previous tires were Cooper Lifeliner Classics in the same size and they were just as good, though they may be discontinued by now.
