Went on a nearly 2,400 mile road trip with my cousin to buy a '70 Road Runner.

The guy seemed a little strange and wanted the money wired to him before hand... Oh hell no....

He then said the only other thing he would accept is cash... Fine if it was a few thousand, but 21... ? I was a little weary, so this is how we packed for the trip...

The trip was about 19 hours one way, going through South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana and about 30 feet into Idaho. It was only about 30 yards from an intersection on the necessary route, so we crossed the line... barely.

I have been in 40 of the contiguous 48 states now. Have yet to set foot or tire in Washington, Oregon, Maine, Rhode Island, Maryland, Delaware, North Carolina, or Florida.

I took all of the pictures at highway speed excluding the ones of the vehicles. Pretty impressed with the camera. They seem to have come a long way in recent years.

The smart negotiator! Good job!

Breath taking scenic road trip AND picking up a new car? A Roadrunner none the less.
Cultural orgasm.

great landscape and pics.

The 70 RR is the nicest RR model. This one has only the flaw of being brown......

Beautiful country...... nice pictures.
I think I would have just gone and driven the Runner back. Be hard to resist those hwy's in a Road Runner.

Still whipping that horse Carsten
He's been waiting for an excuse to pull that one back out!
Carsten, in this order for the RRs, '68, '69 then '70.

When I was 16 and out looking for my first RR my preference was 69, 68, then distant 70. I bought a 70, then a 68. 32 years later pref is 70, 69, 68 ... 68 GTX could possibly inch out the 69 RR or GTX or be virtual dead heat. I love the 68 tail lights and side markers but not as big a fan of the 68 RR grill compared to the 69 and no AG option in 68.

That's why my '68 will be outfitted with a '69 hood and a.g. Setup along with a vintage set of six barrel carbs on a B engine intake.
