Has2b road trip

Another Roadrunner. This was in the seventies. Started out racing C/SA class.

Ended up racing brackets with the car as the local "class" racing got stale. I was sandbagging on this run, the car ran mid 11's in this trim. Around 1979 or so for this pic.

I love the '68s across the board from Dodge & Plymouth but I do like them all with '70 being my least fave.
great vintage pics. My '68 was a race car since the mid '70s and I have been able to track it back that far but still haven't been able to come up with anybody that has any vintage photos of it in action.

It is hard to tell but whichever it is, I love it!

Is it? I have seen plenty in that color wouldnt have thought it to be uncommon

I don't have any like actual facts or anything to back this up but I've been looking at, and for 68-70 B bodies for over 30 years and I haven't seen very many, even in junkyards back in the early 80's when there were plenty of Mopars of all kinds in the yards. That's been one of my favorite colors for a long time (and A4) .. since I bought a 68 Coronet R/T that was Turq w/ white interior .. had A/C too. I would imagine some color changes happened and many of the surviving original turq cars are now Red, Orange, B5, Lime light, etc.

Sometimes the pictures show that color to be bluer then it is. It's one of my faves too. I can't imagine there were but a handful of A12 cars in that color.

I'll check the A12 registry later to see if the break that down for the known cars as i'm certain you are correct

I've only heard of 3 A12 Roadrunners in that color.

Good Kodak film would actually print in a true color. Fuji film always showed it to be more blue as does most digital imaging.

yes, Q5 (or previously LL1) is pretty rare on B-Bodys. It was even dropped for 1970 on B-Bodys, just like A4. You could still get Q5 on C-Bodys in 1970.

I think there are 3 or 4 known Q5 A12 Runners but only one A12 Bee in Q5 (still in the original owners hands)

A4 was still available on 70 B bodies and even afterwards but the shade varied based on year. You are correct on the turquoise as far as I can tell re: 70 B-bodies

Hi,

no, A4 was not available on any B-& E-Body in 1970

Check it out (colour&trim selector 1970 from Dodge)

it has nothing to do with hamtramck historical. The page is great to show what was available or not because it shows the original paperwork and documentation.

The paintcharts are correct but as mentioned earlier A4 was not available on B-&E-Bodys.
Of course it is in the paintcharts for Dodge in 1970 because it was available on other Dodge models

Like on the Monaco

If a customer insisted badly he could get his B&E-body in A4, too. But the fender tag/broadcastsheet wouldn't say EA4, just special order paint code ("999") which only means special order paint and does not explain which one it really is.
