Headers. Why?

This debate is no different than, gun control, abortion...

It isn't worth having as you will never convince somebody otherwise.

Very well put.
My last Harley which finally was a brand new one, I came to understand was a VISUAL masterpiece of art to me. Everynight, I would park it in the garage, wipe off the road tar adhered to the pipes, and just sit on a milk crate for an hour staring at it and listening to the ka-klinking of the pipes cooling down.
Its nice to know im not the only one. Although I've never had a harley, I know exactly what you're talking about. My wife and daughters think I'm nuts when I'm out in the barn drinking a beer and staring at whatever project I'm working on.

Sarcasm is now frowned upon here.

Sarcasm is not frowned up here so let's not post unclear innuendo. If you have a problem that you haven't already made clear, do so and don't mince around and make ambiguous comments about it or make feeble statements with your avatar. I really don't care what avatar you use but this is pretty childish

I don't foresee headers on a street car in my future. I've had them in the past and the pain in the *** was never worth it for me, but they were not quality headers and had no coatings and eventually rusted out. If I were to ever decide to build a really fast car and open up the heads, possibly build/buy a stroker motor, and maximize performance it would be foolish to not move to a quality ceramic header that is engineered to fit well and maximize the power potential of the improvements. Everything works together.

I don't anticipate building a stroker motor tho and in my everyday experience with drivers my preference is magnum exhaust manifolds. There is a place and many good reasons for headers though and I don't look down my nose at people who choose to go with them no matter what their reason or rationale is.

I will not have headers on Goldie. Seeing the factory cast makes me smile.

Sarcasm is...
Bryon, please!!!
Calm down. You are overstepping your bounds admonishing me only on what you perceive. Moderate on facts. Not prejudices.
There is never any innuendo in my posts. You have me confused me with other people.
You know darn well I say exactly what I think.
And so you don't freak out, I am going back to an avatar that I use solely because I idolize the man, faults and all.

I've only had one set of headers. They were shumacher tri y's on the 400 in my old Newport. I loved em. Car was a little hopped up, and I loved the sound they produced. I never had any problems with them. I DO want headers again....

In that comment I was addressing your campaign of several comments of late apparently about free speech on the site or whatever you are up to. In my opinion I am not overstepping my bounds.

We can get along just fine and often do for extended periods so don't make out like I have a vendetta against you. I was moderating on facts when I made that comment. Anyone can see the comments you and I, and everyone else on the site make and judge for themselves.

I also have opinions like everyone else on the value of cars, headers or whatever and I'm here to learn and share what i know and think like everyone else so don't try to blur the two.

Feel free to report any comment I make at any time, and I know some of you do. I cannot see them if it's me you report. Joey will review and get back to you.

If I'm wrong I'll admit it. If he feels I'm out of bounds he'll address it.

Sorry about the name, BRYAN.
I do keep getting confused on all the variations of that name.

I would never go to Joey to complain about a moderator.
I speak up directly.

FWIW, it annoys me no end when somebody ends off with "whatever". But that is my problem because of how I read it and Ithink what it really meant.

Well Stan I appreciate that. I do and will always address you directly as well. I just wanted you and the others to be aware if you/they weren't already.

I'm sorry about your spelling impairment and I'll try and be more understanding when it comes to that. I'm sure it's not intentional with regard to my name

In just looked at Accurate Ltd and the price of the pipes is about what I paid for the headers. I think I still would have gotten the headers anyway. Accurate's pipes would have been installed by now, but no matter, the money was spent and I've got my tti's. I just got sick of exhaust fumes in my car and replacing manifold to pipe gaskets that blew out after 10 minutes. They may not propel me to 9 second 1/4 mile times, but I like them and how they look.

TTI's are very good regardless,,,,,,,,,,,,,But I did learn some things here,so my Hooker headers are leaving my 66' Coronet, and I am putting Manifolds on the 440. But, I will get some connectors to attach to a very fine exhaust system already on the car. The damn Hookers bang the Torsion bars endlessly. So they lie when they say: they fit all 440 cars when in a B body, power steering or manual. Buyer beware!

This is Just my opinion here, both the Moderator and the Poster of the previous posts are very good members, and a compliment to the site. just saying,,,,,,,,,,,. Have a Beer!Lol
