The tool looks right, but if the nut is not too tight and your cautious you can use a flat blade screwdriver to turn the nut.
 
Back then, about the only place those special tools existed was at franchised dealerships which purchased them from the approved tool vendor (Miller-Falls?). IF they bought them, after they were no longer needed, they were usually packed-up and put away, then disposed of if the dealership sold or closed, if not before. If you can find one now, then gold hen's teeth might be near.

Might have better luck finding a vintage MOTOR repair manual that would cover interior body items?

I'm not sure that's the right one, there's a few different ones available now. I think Dale's Cuda Shop had a couple varieties.
 
I know this is an old thread, but just for anyone else that comes across this, a set of internal/external circlip/snap ring pliers works really well to remove this. Just be careful that it's secure lest it slip out and scratch the bezel. External circlip pliers allow you to squeeze the handles while turning so it's less likely to slip out.
