Hello from germany / 440 New Yorker

I don't drive an 440 big block in a country where ~2L (122 cui) seems already to be more than the average to be quiet. I bought it over an german Shop (Moparshop) and they recommend the mufflers for an louder but not to load sound to me. Like you can see above it had an 2.5" Flowmaster FX in it. Sounds good but...not enough:D

I have no idea how that could have been tight / that there was only leaking a very smal amount of oil out. The seal was harder than a stone and partially pushed out completely.

Unfortunately I damaged the steering intermediate lever. Let's see if I can srepair it. But...with other things i orderd a new one from rockauto for 27$.

The volume of the oilpan was brought back to normal with a well-placed hammer blow...it had previously been dented.

Unfortunately a oilpanwithout a baffle plate. But hey, the blue whale isn't a racing car. You have to save weight somewhere ;)

First Bolt that is actually very difficult to get out... thermostat housing. Blocked by the AC.

Working on this with heat and oil....

But Christmas was kind of early this year :D :D

Have to aline one side. And the tab style bracket is missing.

Problems occurring and I am trying to solve them...

Passenger side of the TTI exhaust didn't fit like they told me. No problem. But the driver side hits the colum shaft and I can't get the downpipe in... already wrote an request if I maybe got an Pipe for an car with manual transmission...

Put the fender skirts back in. Seems to fit.

Anyone has some ideas with the exhaust?

I have to relocate it. But they told me so.
Don't cut the flange completely off when you reposition, just cut the welds around pipe/flange. It will then be able to rotate on pipe while the pipe stays intact. I can't find the photos of the flange I took while doing the job.

Just bought this ones for the NYB :)
Christmas present from me to me ;)

German licence Plate KO-NY73H (Koblenz-NewYorker73 Historic).
And @Tobias74 told me it came from Montana noe also with 4-1822.

I see that you have one of the correct exhaust hangers -- don't lose it:

Like i said 99% original. Why? I already put it in my "throw-away-box" but could take it out to keep it.
Those are very hard to find. I have been lucky to find and buy several in the past 4 years, but I have not been able to find any recently. For a correct restoration, it is definitely worth keeping -- all the more so that yours is complete with the bracket and bolts/washers. See here for more info and part numbers. Even if you do not use it, someone will -- and might be willing to pay for it.

Ok! I sometimes think i'am posting to much useless pics, but i do this cause i hope that people write things like you did or see mistakes i made and mention them to me :)
I will keep it like i did with the original water pump.

Wildcat Auto Wrecking is still searching a pair of armrests for me. I hope they find some.

Just ordered an Centric Power Brake Booster 160.80009 for $253.73 (inlc. shipping). Don't think i will get it, i'm more likely expecting a cancellation.
BUT...if i get it: "it's better to have one, than to be in need".

Finally had a few minutes to spare...and failed at pressing out the bushings. At least I managed to get the 4 little rubbers (hard and brittle as hell) changed. Lying under the car i don't get enough force on the pressing tool.
*At one side of the car. Will continue asap... 04/24 starts the new season and there is still a lot to do.

You know how it is... there's always something. Not making good progress at the moment. I can only do bushings once the car has been moved. I changed 4 rubbers, but because the axle is a little too far to the right when lifting it with a jack, I couldn't get the screws in :/
But there was urgent time...
And the Montana license plates are there finally wuhuuuuuu

Wish i would live there BIG SKY COUNTRY

So. Finally made some progress. Yesterday after 2 evenings of work I finished welding the exhaust (flange turned). Worked quite well. Work could be nicer but...

The odyssey began to replace the protective gas bottle...if you don't have one from the local hardware store, it seems to be impossible in the best Germany of all time to exchange it with a full one. Well a friend has an idea for it...

Hole under battery plate also closed. And the best? The Moparshop shipped the shift linkage and the correct bracket for the exhaust today!! Plus an original trunk key and a seal ring for the rear axle entrance. Let's see what kind of act this will be...

*Blue Aldi (cheap but good clothes) "safety" jacket for welding made of highly flammable material .

Small gift for the Chrysler. Sorry for the bad photo...cheap cell phone. Yeah...not a Chrysler V8 logo. But it forms the bridge between the V8 Chrysler and the one and only V8 Opel (Diplomat V8, 5.4 Chevy engine) and combines my two passions.

Changed the brake hose in the back yesterday with my father and started to remove the heater core housing.
And worked on his car (1986 Opel [GM] Ascona C 1.6L / 98cui).

To put in a new pinion sealing in the "pumpkin" he bought a Scissor lift for my garage. Great!!! I've thinking already over 10 years to buy one...but...you know...
