Just bought this car.....where should the kickdown rod connect
should it be on the carburetor pivot point or on the lower hole in carburetor linkage AorB ????
right now it's just laying there hooked to nothing & shifting way too soon

Upper You need something like this. Summit has them. Probably Holley or edelbrock. Lord only knows what combination you have so you may have to experiment or modify.

The photo was sn example and not exactly what your car should have. All kickdowns that I have seen push back towards the flywheel and are attached to the top of the throttle shaft.

The photo was sn example and not exactly what your car should have. All kickdowns that I have seen push back towards the flywheel and are attached to the top of the throttle shaft.
They are two different designs but the kickdown lever is being pulled forward in both
