How rare is a 2 door 73 Monaco?

I have always loved those 72-73 Monaco's... Might have mentioned my first US made car ever was a 72 Monaco sedan.

This 73 was my first 2 door Monaco, a friend of mine owns it now. Great car with a BB and loud pipes!

The 72-73 Monaco's are a really beautiful car. The Hideaway headlights really make an attractive package, but I haven't seen one in years.

I don't like the frond end with the flip headlight thingies.
umm, Ross you may need to clarify your comment, I'll bet the front end looks as good as the back end, were you talking about the car or the young lady? Lol

Yes it is. Much cleaner w/o the 5 mph bumperettes. No offense Finn ;)

Non taken! I too like these better without those large, stupid looking bumperettes. I know many guys who have taken them off of their 73's, but if the car is original otherwise, I prefer to keep all factory stuff on...

some of you folks may recall my 1972 Monaco Coupe, T-code 440 is coming up here in a few weeks?

a hiccup though... I am saving up, perhaps looking for a second mortgage, because the headlight door motor has crapped out. anybody with one, or know someone who rebuilds them, please advise?

Arizona car, original except for reupholstered seats, new headliner, base/clear paint job. Fairly well-optioned, charcoal gray, black vinyl roof and interior, road wheels/white-letters like car FuryFinn posted. its a neat old cruiser.

Sorry to hear your Monaco has to go...

I believe Murray Park has a headlight door motor for your car, for $150 or so.

It's a little pricey IMHO, but Murray's motors are always tested...

On the other hand, you could find a working motor for $50 if you are lucky.

A friend from Finland asked me if I had one of those, and I did. So I decided to let it go since I have to reduce my collection to something more manageable. Letting this one go hurt because it only had 36K miles and drove like it, but I still have one more that I will restore and I like the color a little better - walnut brown with black top/interior.

Personally I like the one picture here, that you sold. I can't tell is that a vinyl roof or painted? I think there may be more of them in Finland than the US.

It is a vinyl roof. It was originally a green vinyl roof, but the previous owner wanted a white vinyl one instead. It went just last month and will arrive in Finland February 28. It will get a good home though. That was an unusually smooth (400-2 bbl Holley) and quiet car, as Chrysler added more insulation in 1973 compared to previous years. The only other car I have had that was slightly smoother was a 1970 Chrysler Newport Custom with the 383-2 bbl Carter carb. Both super nice cars.
