How would you honor C bodies at Carlisle?

Torqued to 85 ft/lbs.
Leaky Tranny (caused by dried seals), leaky rad (caused by bent tube), never ending choke issues (Thermostatic control never works), then there's the never ending electrical nightmare. Oh, and the gas tank leaks too (reproduction sender doesn't fit the original tank properly.)
I hate to say this Bob and I mean it in the utmost respect to you, but my '73 sat for 11 years in a dirt driveway, 15 feet from a major highway that is frequently salted. I've done what I can, and mechanically it's Pretty good, When it runs, it runs flawlessly (no oil burning, good mileage, lots of power), the transmission shifts firm, no sounds from the rearend, the sure-grip works, it stops on a dime without lockup, it handles pretty well, Lots of Power for a 318 actually, I've been running along at 45 MPH and stood on it at the bottom of a hill and by the time I was on the other side I was over 100......
I'll get there eventually, just this year, especially with the dollar as it is, isn't that year.

Nick, I just hate the thought of breaking down on the open road....especially because of an inexpensive part that most of the time you can't get if you walk in to most parts stores.
I agree, 100% there's a toolbox in the trunk of the 73 with a few ICM's, Ballast resistors, a spare fuel filter, extra bulbs, fuses, relay's, the spare in the trunk is a good tire the same size as the ones on it, and I carry spare fluids (a must with my weepy old Plymouth)
I have a .50 cal ammo box full of Harbor Fright tools in the trunk. I need to add some more spares to the mix though.
I also always carry my AAA card! If nothing else, that gets us and the car towed off the road to someplace safe.

I don't know about you guys....the one thing on my 78 NYB that was a severe problem on my last road trip was the oil pressure sending unit failed and oil was pouring out of the top of the sending unit. On top of that....my hood release cable grommet slipped out of the mount so the dang hood wouldn't open. Formal's have all kinds of anti-theft brackets and stuff in that area so you can't reach up there and yank the entire cable to open the hood. When I finally got to my destination where I had access to a giant set of needle nose pliers to reach up there and pull the inner cable and released the hood latch. I replaced the oil pressure sending unit and I check the oil....it took 3.5 quarts to fill it up. I now keep a new one of those dang $10 part in the tote.

I'll certainly be at Carlisle this year with my 75 NYB. Although I've been to Carlisle many times, Never as a participant. When I purchase my ticket for On-Ground parking. How do secure a spot near the rest of you guys that are coming for the C body party? Or do we just go with whatever spot they assign me?
Pull through the gates and there will be someone that will give you directions toward your parking row. The class number is on your windshield sticker and have that in place (assuming you are preregistering). Look for a small sign directing you towards the parking row and then your row will be labeled. There won't be anyone parking you, so grab the last one in the row and back into there.

I'll be Pre-Registering yes.. So will we all be parking in the same area or will we be all spread out? I know we're not a Club so to speak, but with Carlisle giving the "C"'s there due mention, will they be parking all the "C" in the same area? I confuse myself sometimes.. :meh:

I'm confused to. My dad signed me up for the "Young Guns" class, not C body. Does that mean I won't be able to park with you guys?
You will park with cars in your class. So, yes the same area.
Nope, that's on the other side of the field. It might be worth an email or phone call to change class to keep you away from the neon colored Neons.

" Everyone seems to want to be together and I totally agree with that. The challenge will be HOW we do that. I have received several applications from C-Body owners for the Invitational Display. I'm happy to put as many as possible in Building T...BUT if we do that, they won't be near the other cars. Obviously we can't fit all of the C-Bodies in Building T - even if there were no other cars in the building. I think the other option is going to be to put a few cars in Building T as a highlight and use them to direct people to your area on the Showfield.
It seems like this is going to be more of a reunion for C-Body owners - basically a way to get all of the C-Body owners together from the forums, etc. Ideally, I'd put the Invitational cars under a tent and put all of the C-Body classes around the tent. That way all of the cars and people are in one area.
As far as the type(s) of C-Bodies we feature, I can only pick from the cars that apply. Right now, I'm not sure if my pool covers all of the various styles. To deepen our pool of applicants, here's the link to the Invitational Application: http://invitationals.carlisleevents.com
If we put the cars under a tent, those cars can come and go each day (although I do ask that those cars be in the tent and on display as much as possible each day - perhaps 9am to 4pm). Cars in a building MUST arrive on Thursday for roll in and MUST remain in the building until Sunday afternoon.
I want to do this right for YOU - the C-Body owners and enthusiasts. Keep the ideas flowing...on FCBO. I can design cool decals and banners as I've been doing lately for celebrations and reunions. I saw the suggestion about a parade and fireworks. Uh, yeah... I don't like to encourage driving around during the show. Plus, if we don't have a crowd for you (spectators) it might not be a lot of fun. I'm working on an activity for one of the evenings (probably Friday) where maybe we can do something extra to celebrate the C-Bodies. Put your thinking cap on too. Maybe we can come up with something really cool together.
I hope I covered everything from the thread on FCBO. If I missed anything, please let me know. Let's make this a year to remember for the C-Body fans!!

I think Ed is onto something with a large tent and featured "invitational" C bodies under it.

I think the C bodies already have a prime location at Carlisle. They are right by the survivor tent and closer to the vendors than the B, A, or E bodies. I don't like the dealership display as its so far from everything. If there is to be a special display, it should be building T (right between the vendors and the car corral) and should include some special C bodies such as a 65 300-L, a 70 300-Hurst, a 67 Imperial "mobile director", a 65 Fury Indy Pace Car, 70- 71 Sport Fury GT, possibly a movie or TV car like the Bluesmobile Monaco or the Brady Bunch 69 Fury convertible (saw it once at a show in California), 68-69 Newports with the optional wood side paneling, and some survivor C bodies as well as some high quality restorations. Restored C body police cars as mentioned are a good idea too. Possibly a celebrity owned C body as well, such as the John Lennon 72 Town and Country wagon.

To the best of my knowledge the dealership building is done. I've never liked the building anyway since it was segregated from the field.
C bodies have been juggled around for many years from location to location but have been in this location for the last two or three years.
Building T is a good way to highlight a car or group of cars.. I wouldn't want my car in there.
