Your Newport has the same system as your New Yorker? Hmmm because my T&C is completely different...than my NYB. Make sure its the same before you order... Just saying... to be on the safe side. I dont know why they had to make two different setups... Arrrrgh. Lol

No T&C in 1978. That wiper cam was on used on 1978 NY'er and Newport's.

2 speed intermittent on both my 78's.

The 3 speed didn't have intermittent feature. The 78 2 speed intermittent motor is a straight motor. The 3 speed motor comes out and does a 90 degree turn.

I was thinking perhaps the Intermittent was optional on the '78 Newport.

I'm certain that they used a different wiper cam (different part number) in the 78 (Not C-Body) T&C which was the same as the one in a Cordoba which I know for certain won't work on a 78 NY'er or Newport. I had a Cordoba wiper motor and cam and they definitely don't interchange.

My data book says the intermittent 2 speed was an option on 1978 Newport's and standard on 1978 New Yorker's. A03 option. It also comes with a windshield washer fluid level indicator light that illuminates when the washer fluid get below 20 percent capacity. The data book doesn't say if the 3 speed wiper motor is standard on Newport's and I don't know if it uses the small cam used on previous models.
