What would motivate you pay $6300?
I didn't say I would pay $6300 for it I said I would offer him 5k...but again, I am not to hip on the Plymouth Fury, I am more of an "A" body guy, so what IS wrong with this car and why is is not worth what he is asking?

There is nothing wrong with it figuratively speaking. I just fail to see any reason why it should command $6,300. Can you give any reasons why it does?

Again, NO< I CANNOT say why it would command $6300. The seller could ask 1 million for it, as it is his car to sell. I do not think his asking price is out of line, compared to allot of the other ads I have seen out there for a POS that don't even run for 10K.
I don't know much about C body MOPARS, thats why I joined this forum, and this one looks nice in the pics to me...can you give me a reason why it is NOT worth the $6300 the seller is asking other than you don't want to pay that much for it? Nobody can seem to give a real reason, and I really just would like to honestly know.
Like I said, I would offer him 5K max, and that's just my opinion on the car based on what the car guide websites say it is worth, and based on the pics in the ad and the description. The only way to tell is to go see it in person, and I am not in the market now for a car.

I would think you should be able to pick up a car comparable to this one for 4000-4500. That's my opinion.

I'd have to have my tit in a vise before I laid out more than 25 hundred for that car.
Jeezes. Throw on some shiny wheels and you guys can't wait to open up your wallets.

If it truly is totally rust free, and 24,000 actual miles, then $5,000 is no problem. Rust sucks, welding panels sucks, original bodies are what I look for. No A/C would be a plus for me, as a 426 crate hemi would fit right in. The firewall on A/C cars is a hassle for the hemi engine. Also, The fury weighs less than my Polara, so it would be a real blast.A 440 six pack also would be a real good option without A/C. I think the 66' Fury is right up there style wise as the Polara hardtop. it appears to be the coming thing, as I sold a Newport that is getting a real 426 hemi and four speed Installed. My Buddy wants to go looking for so called fast cars.
And losing to a Newport would bug the hell out of them.

Here is what I see that is wrong with the car and would detract from the price. Looking at the outside, there's a few dings here and there. The paint on the roof is bad. On the inside, the carpet is faded and the seats are torn. The car itself looks to be rust free and being a Texas car, I would say that it probably is. It's not a desirable car option wise... Bench seat, manual brakes and no A/C.

So... he's asking $6300. Most likely he'll take $5000 and IMHO, that's a little high, but a fair price if that is the car you want.

I gave you a reason: I see NOTHING special in the pictures of that car that would seriously compel me to think about coughing up $6300 for it. IMO that's a bit far fetched. Now, there must be an objective reason why you think otherwise. So spit it out. What is it? Paintjob? Low miles? 383? What the hell why not $10K?

Again, I never said I would pay $6300 for this car...I can see, nobody seems to understand that. I said, I would offer 5k. Again, I would have to see it in person to back up that offer.
It looks nice, it looks pretty straight, it looks clean, and they do not make them anymore. To answer your questions, yes, I like the fact that is has a BB 383, the low miles are nice, if that is really true but I have to buy the car based on its condition, not the sellers story unless there is solid documentation to back up his claims.
The paint job looks good in the pics, BUT, I would have to see that in person to make a final judgement on the body and paint. And why not 10k? Well, that would be really dumb to pay more than what the seller is asking for the car. I mean, the car is 48 years old, what are you guys expecting?? $2500 seems awfully cheap, but I see allot of lowballers out there too always trying to score a deal on every deal they see, and there is nothing wrong with that if the seller is willing to sell it cheaper.

SO, to end my part in this conversation, again, I do not think the asking price is unfair or over priced. No A/C? Manual brakes? Come on, this car is a 1966 model, and those things were true luxury items at the time. That is what makes cars like this great, old school car with low options. You want AC and PS, go buy a new car.
I personally, would not pay the sellers asking price. I can't see any reason why this car would not make some one a nice weekend driver to fix up as they go along. and if they want to pay the $6300 the seller is asking for it, then it is obviously worth it to them. Just my opinions, like it or not, thanks for your time.

Don't take it personally, without some arguing this place is pretty boring. The market is whatever someone is willing to pay and I think sometimes us denizens of FCBO are a little behind the curve price wise. Still, with that one with very few options and not a top of the line C like an Imperial or New Yorker I'd be hard pressed to go much above $3000. Then again, I am also paying in Canuck bucks.

I understand, and I am not trying to argue with anyone. Just sometimes typed word are mis-construed as meaning something else in the persons own minds that are reading your words, in their own tone
I like the car. It has cool body lines, looks like all the trim is there. So, it has a few dings, the paint is sub par and the seats are ripped. All easy fixes really. If the body and drive train are solid, then it is a keeper to me. Being from California, rust free cars are everywhere here mostly, and they now deem top dollar in the markets here versus a car from Michigan that is a rust bucket. They are getting harder to find, and that drives up the price. I have seen much worse cars, and Furys in much worse condition, for more than this car is going for. Just because it is a "California car" that maybe rust free, but looks like someone took a baseball bat to the body lol

I agree with
ledman, all those options to me are of little value. The lighter the car is the better. Rust free is rule number one, try to buy a rust free 66-67 Belvedere hardtop in that condition, and the price is double, or more. People are getting tired of it. The C body hardtops are next to get bought up, that's the way it is. Young people love the big cars, and they are getting the treatment. Take that car to Phoenix, and it would sell in one day. It would get the new A/C, 6.1 hemi, disc brakes, all the stuff. The car would go up in value as it goes. That is their future, at least they are being kept on the road.

no problem. Live and learn.

That's why I joined here so I can learn more about these awesome old mopars:)

We are a diverse bunch. Some want totally original C bodies to be left alone. Others depending on age see things differently.
Look at the big picture, a 67' GTX weighs 3545 Lbs. The decked out Fury weighs 3675 with the big block. Smoother car, more room, and style. I'm presently looking for a nice 66' hardtop for that reason. if I want an original A/C cruiser, I drive the Polara. C body hardtops are great cars, and I see their value going up as time goes by. I say get the nicest one first, so you don't have to buy a clunker later.
