Imperial BEER......

This is made by Breckenridge Brewery in Breckenridge, CO just a couple hours from where I live... not that I drink beer but friends and such have bought it before. Never seen the '72 Imperial kind though that's bada$$

"Imperial" means more hops and malt along with a higher alcohol content. Traditionally they were stout exported to Russia for their Imperial Court.

But Zumergy should know more.

You basically have it right Big John it is a cross between a Russian Imperial Stout and a Cream Stout, neither any flavor or aroma hops, just bittering hops. I would probably describe it a big Cream Stout but not as big as a Russian. It should be a great beer especially this time of year.

Pint House, 780 N. High St.

Thanks for the tip Ross I have been planning on going to the Pint House in the Short North sometime. I am also going to check a couple of retail stores also. I bought their Christmas Ale last year at the Anderson's. I bet they will have the 72 Imperial too.

The Andersons is great. They used to have a fantastic wine selection before the economy tanked. It's now literally half of what it once was.

I will check a few places I can think of off the top of my head although I'm not a big beer drinker. Will, where was that purchased?

The one in Dublin is still loaded economy never effected the beer selection. I honestly couldn't remember if the wine selection is smaller.

I would be interested too. I have a first cousin who can bring me down a six pack at Thanksgiving if I can't find it here off the shelf. Which reminds me Matt do you go to the North American International Auto Show (my cousin works for GM and was going to get me tickets). I usually like to go mid week.

What's not to like?

Mike, I used to build auto show exhibits and during the show season I was a traveling set up supervisor. I've been to almost all of them across the country over a 8 year period and haven't been but once since I got out of it. Maybe its about time I went. Do let me know when you plan on coming, It would be fun.

That Imperial beer would be cool just sitting on a shelf in my man cave,

I will definitely give you a call. I didn't go last year working on the 300. I plan on going this year.

Well I can't find any in Columbus. I went to both of my main beer suppliers and both had the beer it was actually a summer release. The big store Anderson's said he had 2 cases in June and that was it.

Ross I doubt if they have bottles of the 72 Imperial at the Pint House. I checked out the web site, and they have a Breckenridge tap and no mention of bottles. I found the that they have already released their Christmas Ale so they may not even have it on tap anymore. Sorry I struck out.
