Mopars at big daddys

When hand washing any of my cars i always use those " wax while you dry" sprays. They leave a finish on the car that makes it easier for subsequent washes. I use a damp terrycloth towel and just keep ringing it out. No streaks even in the sun or on a black car.

Browns are definitely easier.
Obligatory cloud in the hood pic.

Last black car I owned was a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. Supercharged V6 that got 30MPG. This thing was a rocket too. This car had been "detailed" at a used car lot. It was covered with swirls and buffer marks when I got it. A couple hours with my buffer and polishes and the car looked 100% better. This was my work car and I drove the hell out of it.

I started having issues with it at 120K (I'd put 80K on it myself) and I dumped it before it got too expensive.

The problem is that when your level of expectations go up, as they do with a black car, you find yourself avoiding the usual commercial car wash. My Mercury Grand Marquis is grayish tan and the color hides a lot. That car goes through the car wash ($24 month subscription) at least once a week. I have some new "ceramic" polish that I'm going to try on it as soon as the weather warms up.

I still have some of that wet wax I can send ya
Hey... If I'd known you were gonna try it, I would have tried to get you a sample bottle.

My kid is out of that business now, so there's no more free stuff for me anyway...

Keeping a black looking nice was a bear when my city well water was full of iron.

I just bought a BLACK 2017 300C....LOL

No problem....I purchased unlimited car washes at my local car wash for $25.95 a month.

I don't think running a new, black car through a car wash is a good idea Bob. In fact, I wouldn't run ANY car through a car wash that uses anything that contacts the finish. Besides, they only clean the high spots

Face it Bob. Purchasing a black car is a commitment to hand wash's and frequent waxing for the time you own it. Dusting on a daily basis is almost mandatory. (California duster will help).

Perhaps it's time for a new lady in your life. One who LIKES to wash & wax cars.

My preferred method of washing my cars are High School cheerleaders fund raisers.
Just a small contribution on my part to help America's youths achieve their dreams

Then she'll want to drive it all the time....

The problem with the FMC is that it's members are mostly ignorant towards "what" a C body is.
Their folks who have always considered C bodys as "power train donors".
If everyone who cares would drop, even a short, note to the email,
attn: FMC chairman .....
woodstock383@verizon.net then something may happen.

TTT
If anyone could E mail the chairman, he has not replied yet. Let's stay on their radar.

Should we fire another volley?
Will sent pictures, did anyone from the club respond to the numbers in attendance?

No response was asked for or required. Pictures were sent and the event chairman got an earful.
They will make their own decision and we will see what it is when it's time to register. After talking with club members and our volley of e-mails I would think there is a good chance we will get our own class. If not, it's their club, they make the rules.

I normally park our old camper at my friend Marvin's place on the north side of Ocala, no charge. But I think I'll apply for one of the RV sites at the new event site this year. $150.00 for three nights, but We won't have the 45 minute drive, (one way), to get to the event.
If I do then we will probably hold a little get together at our campsite Saturday afternoon/evening, and I'll supply the Corona's and snacks. Maybe even grill. It might be a great opportunity to share some stories.
