Very happy how the lens came out considering the condition of the original.
how did this ever turn out. Was there good results
Dang Zymurgy great job, when I first saw the thread I only noticed the first page dint realize there was 24. That is a lot of reading to catch up, great journey. I starter reading because I have a broken tail light on my 65 newport.
Ever the perfectionist.I think I have finally achieved the outcome I have been looking for. If there is a flaw in the lens which 1500 grit paper won't take out I can't buff the urethane resin to a mirror finish. I decided to clear the lens and then cut and buff and got a great result.
The first detail picture shows the scratches and the last the cleared lens buffed to a near perfect reflection of my hand.
Now I have made more work for myself, because I don't trust the longevity of the clear coat, so now I will make a 2nd mold of a near perfect lens, to reproduction.
