My new `67 Imperial Crown Coupe!

Is this a casting date seen on the side of the block, looks like 8/6/66 or sth. ?

The casting date is 8-9-66, pretty early block for '67.

Any chance the dog is getting better; my gf once had a dachshound-mix that passed out from time to time for heart trouble and still made it another three years and was relatively lively still. Sure hope so.

Unfortunately not getting better but not getting worse. He's very weak and can't stand up without my help and has stopped eating unless I literally put food in his mouth. I still do get him outside at least twice a day and he goes under his own power once I stand him up. I move his bed out into the shop by the overhead door during the day as He likes to get a little sun out there. He's always liked having his bed in the sun. He doesn't appear to be in any pain and he's still very responsive to my attention as I am to his. I'm just taking it day by day at this point and feel that every one is a bonus.

It's like a train wreck, you find it hard to look away.

It is for sure, I raised him from a pup and chose to never had kids so at this point he's the closest thing to a son that I'll likely ever have.
enough with this though because I will get through it and my life has definitely been sweeter with him in it. Wouldn't trade the time we have had for anything.

I ordered my parts just now through Summit and chose a cam with advertised duration of 256/268 and lift, .447/.455. This is just a slightly hotter cam then stock and is closest comparable to what would have been in say a Coronet R/T of the same year.
my next chore is to remove the crank without removing the pistons so I can replace the old rope style rear main seal with a neoprene one.
I'll continue to clean and prep parts so that when my new parts get here in a day or two, I can just start assembly. Summit ships very fast, I've received parts from them the day after I ordered in the past but since I ordered late in the day it'll probably be Thursday.

That'll be great to have a fresh engine to go to Carlisle with.

First I have to say that Dues is no longer with me. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers and let me tell you that he went on his own terms. I knew it was going to be my last night with him and that my first call this morning was going to be to the vet to have him come over. I took care of his every need just as I have been for 10 years and knew to say my goodbyes to him, when I woke up he was gone. I would consider that to be his final gift to me, it couldn't have been more peaceful.
Rest in piece buddy, you were the best dog ever!

Put your tissues down because on a brighter note the parts I ordered from summit after 6 pm last night just showed up at my shop, that's less then 16 hours! How's that even possible? The Fed Ex trucks must roll in and out of there like airport parking shuttles!
seriously, I've been shedding tears for a week, the way it went down was very sad but it was also a relief, bittersweet you might call it.

My warmest thoughts and prayers for you both. For you to continue to remember all those good times and laugh about those times you just wanted to...well maybe he didn't chew anything when he was a puppy. He is a peace now, no pain. I have had a chow with osteosarcoma and a golden with hemangiosarcoma. I know what you are going through. I'm glad that you have a distraction for now. Well, two distractions but I wasn't going to comment on the earlier distraction mentioned. LOL Have a best that you can day. <hugs>

Matt, FWIW, I just made a small donation to the local animal rescue organization in memory of Deusey.
I had to do it. This thread was tearing me up....

I just made a donation to the my local shelter. I rescued 2 kittens after my last cat passed away.

The Shelter Director came up to me and asked a bunch of questions. He said he was starting a new program "Name your price day" so I got them for $50 apiece. That covered an exam, shots, and micro-chipping. I also paid $50 apiece for reimbursable spay/neuter certificates and I just called the Shelter and told them I'm donating that money in memory of my friend Dusenberg from the Motor City.

BTW, SuperBee (the striped one) is on the left. Mopar is on the right.
