My new `67 Imperial Crown Coupe!

The right side dumps at the same spot as the LP manifold so that was a piece of cake. I just need to pick up a 2.25” I.D. To use as a coupler.

I didn’t feel good about the old head pipe on the driver’s side so I fabricated a new one and it turned out great. The pipes are finished, I’m just going to clean and maybe paint the manifolds before I install them for good.

Making progress Restocking the engine room.

I made some progress yesterday. The exhaust is all bolted up and all the wiring is back in place and I’m in the process of adding a chain on the left mount for fear there isn’t a block of rubber up to the task. I’m also cabinet blasting the battery tray parts along with anything else that looked like it needed a refresh. I ordered a new master from Craig @mobileparts but want to deal with installing the steering column and the Auto Pilot before installing the rebuilt brake booster anyway. I’m also going to flush all the old brake fluid out as it’s been in there long enough.

Thanks for being a trailblazer for me on the HP manifold install in a 67/68 Imperial. Looks like the steering will be tight.

I'd appreciate your insights on the column install please!

I checked the fit of the manifolds before the dismantle so I am confident there will be no issues with the steering. I’m going to have to get creative with the Auto Pilot though for sure.

Got the Auto Pilot linkage successfully modified to clear the manifold!

I figured I’d be remiss if I didn’t freshen up the hood latch support, that whole one thing leads to another…

Pretty much ready to fire but I think I’ll hold off until the temp gets back closer to the 30s during the day to do it.
Should get the new master tomorrow I’m hoping so I’ll get that done this week too.

Yeah I've got a car to paint so I'm waiting for the end of the week and temps in the mid 80's. I know, I'm cruel. :poke::poke::mad:

The new master arrived yesterday and I was surprised that it is aluminum. Anyway it looks great in there and after draining the old fluid out I let gravity get the new dot 5 out to the corners. Just need to bleed them now. While it was up on 4 jack stands I did swap out the leaf springs with a known good used set so now fingers crossed that they were as good as I was told they were.

I’m happy to report that the new used springs are in much better shape than the originals. The original springs were not only very worn out but from the day I bought this car would make loud creaking noises whenever I so much as opened the door. That noise is gone now and even though I didn’t take any before measurements I know that it’s at least an inch or so higher back there so I am pleased about the resources I spent on them. I bought or bartered the used set from Murray quite some years ago.
Also in bleeding the rear brakes I was prompted to remove the rear wheel cylinders because it didn’t look like the left rear was working. I’m glad I did because it was all but stuck and needed to be serviced. I was able to take them apart, clean them thoroughly and reassembled them with new seals. Hopefully they will perform but if they don’t I will replace them before the driving season.
I may fire it up today if it gets warm enough.
