My Wagon Got Rear Ended Today

I can understand wanting all our hardtops and sedans but WhyTF fer'ners want our wagons too is beyond me. Bringing chickens and goats to market?

Because wagons are great. Exspecially if you compare it with the european crap like that tiny shitty Opel. You could park it on the roof of a Mopar C-body wagon.

We had five c-bodies wagons yet

They love their wagons over there, even the Polizei. For every SUV we see here in the states they have a sportwagon Audi, BMW, VW, Alfa Romeo, Renault...

I subscribe to quite a few car blogs and that's what I came to realize the most.
There's a LOT of European models that don't make it to this side that SHOULD!!
The Asians? Not so much...

GM had balls when they came out with the Caddy CTS-V 6 speed wagon. You have to give them a thumbs up for that even they probably only sold about a dozen of them.

Yep, I'm hearing that all variants of the CTS wagon are being discontinued due to poor sales.

The SUV displaced the traditional station wagon pretty much in the US I think.
My shitty Opel wagon helps me to finance the Hurst resto, Carsten as he hauls Opel parts for sale to the swap meets.:yes_no:

Hi Klaus,

it can be done way more easy. Sell all your Opels. They are small and slow. Buy Fullsize Mopars or Muscles instead.

These cars are the same to me as an American car is a relived memory of childhood for an American, the Chryslers are not relived, just grown on you through research and American TV-serials and cinema. Completely different kind of experience.

Well I checked with DVAP here in town and they don't have a tail gate. I have e-mailed Wildcat and Muarry Park and am waiting to hear from them. Not panicking yet but will be soon.

Worst case senario I have a good tail gate for a 71 Fury Wagon that I can cut out and weld the tail light openings from my gate into it. Lots of work but as a last resort I'll have to do it.

Chris, If Wildcat or Murray can't help yeah Moore's up in Rapid City sayz they have a '71 Coronet Wagon and I think a '69 Plymouth 'sub wagon. I've found that ah phone call works better then the 'puter with that outfit! Happy New Year, Jer

you had a bad childhood :))
When I was a kid I always loved the american cars in the playing cards and focused on the few american cars driving around here which you could see occasionally. German cars never meant anything to me. Later I startet reading american car magzines at the train station newspaper stands as I couldn't afford to buy them.

My dad drove Opels. Bad cars.

Yet our new Buick Regals which is a super hot seller here in the U.S. is an Opal designed for the Chinese market. This whole world has gone crazy. Nothing I believed in all my life is relevant any more.

I think you have confused things slightly. The Buick Lacrosse is the one designed for the Chinese market. The Verano is also big over there, called the Excelle in China. The Regal (which I drive) is an Opel Insignia and was designed primarily for the Euro market originally, but was also supposed to be the 2nd-generation Saturn Aura here. Then GM killed Saturn and it became a Buick. The new Malibu is based on the same platform but is not done nearly as well. However (and this will really make you gag) next year's Impala is based on the Lacrosse platform and so the "baseball, hot dogs, apple pie & Chevrolet" flagship is based on a Chinese design.

You're right. Everything is too damn confusing now. How you were able to keep it all straight is beyond me but I appreciate the clarification.
