Need your help on spreadsheet

Biggest question of all:
Models like Polara... Can Polara suffice for all Polaras, as in Polara, Polara Custom, Polara 500, etc.?
My opinion is to not break it down to VIN classes.
Then you only need Fury and not Fury I, Fury II, Fury III and Sport Fury...

I guess the real question is what is the ultimate goal/use for this spreadsheet?

Fame, fortune, and immortality... :D

Mostly a consensus by The Best & the Brightest that people will quote instead of misinformation from Moparts, Wiki, etc.

That's my opinion and preference.
After I hear from enough people I will edit the spreadsheet accordingly.

If you look at it now, it's a mishmash of both arguments and needs to be fixed before I ask more questions about other stuff.

Show of hands please.
Fury or Fury I, Fury II, etc,
Polara or Polara, Polara 500, etc.

My personal feeling?
If one model can make the point, for simplicity sake, Just Fury, Polara, Newport, it would make the chart more understandable.

If it is id'd by Chrysler as Sport Fury GT, then it comes under Fury.
If it was called a Plymouth GT, then give GTas a separate model.

I don't want it to be a Numbers Nazi thing.

But its up to you guys. Show of hands, please?

Would start with the basic break down then as time permits would break it down further this way your not overwhelmed at the start....if you wish can deligate certain models to research to folks that speacialize in that year and make ie,,polara71 and possibly 1971 polaras...
anyway big project....smart fella deligates

Yes, simplicity. Think dealer brochures. That would be breakdown enough.

simpler the better as you started.

there's a balancing point where "too simple" invites useless debate that "experts" strive to mitigate with solid details. but "too detailed" just takes too much time to create and potentially "crosses the eyes" of everybody except other experts reducing usefulness.

I'd be cool with only "models" but when you get to B-body "Furys" along side the C-body "Gran Furys" in '77 (or therabouts) it should be noted yes...assuming a yr by yr format is decided upon?

Bingo.
And I would like to get going with Plymouth
Fury.
Gran Fury.
Sububan.

Any others for Models that did not have Fury in its name?

I want to make Gran Fury distinctive because Fury covered B and C models. Plus it will straighten out the vendors that say "Fits: Fury, 1965-1975".

Given the multitude of CPOS Packages and combinations and permutations Ma Mopar uses today I can only imagine what it was like back then. When we do ROLLOUTS today to manage inventory we do not break things down by trim level but by body model. Thus every Ram 1500 Crew is a DS regardless of package or equipment just like every 300 is a LX. Looking at hundreds of cars everyday I have learned to simplify it down to Major Model Class only. Like it has been said already, a Fury is a Fury is a Fury.

I look at the 2016 Ram lineup in the Build Your Own and I can't comprehend any of it. It's an insane mess.

What is CPOS?
Chrysler piece of ****?

Lol no it refers to the Quick Order Packages such as 26H means Ram Hemi Automatic (26) and price class H which is Laramie. It includes all the standard equipment for a Laramie in one option code rather than having to enter each code seperately. Think of Fender Tag versus broadcast sheet.

Start with this. I didn't proof all the pages. If you want sub models (price point, second letter or whatever you want to call it), the 66 VIP (PS VIN) is missing from the page.

65-68

Can we do this in baby steps.
I'd like to first get everyone's input on models.
Starting with PLYMOUTH, are the models shown satisfactory?
Adds and deletes?

Plymouth models
Sport Suburban wagon. IMO you have to include it because it's as different as the Sport Fury was to the Fury III or VIP.
