New forum..old face

Exhaust was installed a day before break in but needs tweaking.
I forgot to tighten the tranny lines at the trans so I lost a quart of fluid during break in but at least we managed to do the cam break in.
The radiator was in re cored and stored for ten years.
It sprung a leak after shutting off the engine.
Pulled the rad and had it fixed. The rad shop removed a mouse nest from the top tank!!

Now that she is alive,I can work out the electrical bugs, and finish the front end trim, bumper, etc.
Installed my NOS fender mount turn signals now 'cause it is easier to get to the holes before installing the rest of the fender trim.

Radiator re-installed,new heater hoses, power steering hoses, and belt installed.
replaced leaky oil pressure sender.
Clock shorted out, started smoking and blew a fuse,so the cluster has to come out--AGAIN! Got two other spare working clocks.
No big deal,just a pain.
Besides, the COLD light and OIL light are not working.I narrowed down they are not getting power from the circuit board in the upper dash cluster.

Oh...and the engine runs GREAT!! Nice burble through the TTi system with a hint of a cam from the Comp Cam 268,LOL
Runs tight and smoooth!!

Glad to hear the engine runs great. You have right attitude on the electric gremlins, I'm sure you will figure that out too. What a beautiful job you have done.

De-bugging is part & parcel of a car that had not seen the road since 1973,and go through a twelve year restoration,LOL
The pattern that seems to be with this car is..everything had to be done more than once...
But that is what it takes to get the car where I want it to be to make me happy.
My 68 New Yorker was a nice car.
I kinda upped the ante and went nuts on the BoaB,LOL!!

During the Canuck Thanksgiving long weekend,I skipped the turkey and focused on the BoaB.
NOS eyebrows, and hood molding is on.
Painted and intalled the filler panels.

I think the grille is kinda plain.
To live up to its "Custom" part of its name,I did my own spin on the grille.
First with the dremel I polished the chrome ribs.

Then I Painted the backside and front of the grille flat black.
While the paint was still wet,I wiped the paint away from the chrome ribs.

Once the black paint dried,I covered the face of the grille and painted the Argent silver on the surrounding frame .

I will post a better pic after the grille is installed..

Test fitted the grille and the gap between it and the filler panel were huge.
On and off numerous time until there were no more allowable adjustments.
