Yeah OSdart.
The Bowling Green plant has been my home away from home for the last four years. GM has been good for us and kept us busy the last six years.
While I prefer the sexier looking previous vettes I hope these sell well to the younger “Transformers” generation.

I loved my C6's. The car. Not the people. Not the image. Nothing. Just the car. The C7's styling turned me off. The C8 makes me puke.

BTW. One of the Mandatory design parameters management made for the C8 was that IT HAD TO HOLD TWO GOLF BAGS.
I'm not making that up. It had to hold two golf bags.

This new mid-engine Corvette looks like chevy glued some Corvette inspired bumper covers on Honda's NSX and added a few Ferrari inspired details. It's just not impressive to me.
I love the NSX, granted it's a little more expensive than the Corvette. If I was a buyer in that price range, an NSX or Porsche 911 would be my choice, and it would be a hard choice between the two.

Please excuse my ignorance, but I was reading some of the specs and they are proud of a "dual clutch transmission" and I don't understand the "why of this "feature". Why should someone want a "dual clutch"?

Someone will expand on or correct me but my understanding is the forward gears are split between the 2 clutches. The next gear in sequence is ready to go but "unclutched" waiting on the signal from the paddle shifters to engage. Seamless, uninterrupted power application to the wheels.

The C8 styling doesn't give me any grief it's just that most super car styling is merging into a common indistinguishable theme for most makes. This is why I like that there is still a capable Challenger out there with old school styling. Now if it could just shed some weight it would be untouchable by anything GM or Ford has.

I have to say that I really loved my C4 and of all the cars I've owned, I probably miss that one the most. Didn't care for the image at all and there were only a few Corvette guys that I liked. Honestly, I've met a number of Metric Challenger guys that are just a gold chain away from being interchangeable with a lot of Corvette guys.
Golf bags? Nothing new... Here's a typical golf bag door (behind the front door) on a Duesenberg.
I liked the C6 and the C7 kind of grew on me. As far as the C8, well, it's like the C7 to me. I don't care for the pics, but seeing a C7 in person was completely different so I'll reserve judgement until I see one.
I've thought a couple times of buying a C5. When I bought my Ranger, they had a nice roadster on the lot that caught my eye, but just as well, my allotted car $$ was already spent on my little truck.
I hear GM put an extra shift on to build the C8 because the demand is going to be high for the first year cars.
I bet the 2nd year that the C8 will be heavily discounted....

He's one that's all excited about the 2 golf bag trunk, they showed the matching luggage that is available, quite a bit that will fit in it. I got annoyed at the promo when they started the Apollo reference and started to fast forward through it to the engine specs.
Just wait till Borla crafts up your own very unique annoying sounding exhaust system for it.
I've already come across many in traffic and it makes you want to move to a heavy vehicle inspection state, LOL stupid.

Sorry to disagree, but I'd take an Exige, Evora or Elise over any of those. Get back to what driving really is all about. Some of their numbers are pretty darn good and at a way better price point. Add Lightness!
They should've come out with there's when a mid engine was the "Hot Ticket" now it's just "Yeah...and..."
I get it, but that's apples and oranges. In that range I think the Aerial Atom or Aerial Nomad are pretty kick ***.
