New to forum, and pondering a trade for a '66 300

Has more to do with the rims than with the actual car. American Racing with whitewalls doesn't look right except maybe on a vintage "original" Hot Rod.

Actually, the 300 includes the original rims (with new tires!) and hubcaps in excellent shape, as the owner wants to keep those rims in the picture. I like stock stuff on most cars, so bonus for me.

I'm just going to add my 2 cents worth cuz I can't help myself. Is it possible that there may be some degree of apprehension in selling the truck and in asking others for their opinion Scott is hoping for validation? Maybe. What ever your decision may be, please make sure you will not regret it later. I think we all have regrets as we get older. I can't tell you how many times I've heard "I wish I still had.." Maybe I'm just sentimental but I truly believe that you want to keep the truck. It's your decision as others here have said. The 300 is beautiful but so is the truck. IMHO Blood is thicker than oil. LOL PS. Stan I'll adopt him. :)

you're right...asking others helps me get some validation. For big decisions, I have a tendancy to do that. I probably will miss is, but it's also a shame for it to sit all the time, and I'd really like to be able to take my wife and kid in a classic, not going to happen in the truck. I've gotten to the point where yes, it was grandpa's truck, but I also have all his tools, with his name on them, and I use those all the time. Plus, no matter what you do, you will ALWAYS have the memories.

It all depends on the car. Dave's Dad Polara looks incredible with those Torque Thrust wheels and RWL's. BTW, those wheels (and his car) look even better with actual eyeballs on them. AND.......he should of won a trophy at Carlisle IMHO!!!

Now back to wheels........my NYB wouldn't look good with a lot of aftermarket wheels and definitely would look out of place with RWL's.

People tend to underestimate those rather sedate or in some people's eyes boring color combos, that's why their overseen sometimes when it comes to judging. Personally I like this Polara a lot, untouched original condition completely displaces equipment and color to me. Never would have ordered a car this way new, but would take it as is today without thinking over. I happen to own a low mileage station wagon in about the same interior/exterior combo.

I don't remember seeing any of your cars? Can you post a few pictures when you get a chance?

When it comes to Mopars I only have the one 300 H, the rest is German stuff, can send you a couple if interested, don't want to "garbage" a thread with cars no one ever saw who wasn't living in Europe for a while.

Oh Ya, post a few of the 300 Hurst here. You can post more than a few of the 300 H or start a thread for it. Everyone here is interested for sure.

OK, I remember now. Did you get the hood back on? Do you drive it much?

Got the hood together in the basement, couple of delays due to two collision repairs I had to perform on two other cars and we're pretty desperately still looking for a house that fits our requirements including my car collection which outgrows my storage space and a workshop where the Chrysler fits in.

Nothing wrong with asking others. Hope you didn't take my comment the wrong way. These guys are the experts in what is profitable and words of wisdom. Again, as some have stated...it's your decision. To the one's I called experts and wise...don't let it go to your head. :glasses11:

Looks like tomorrow is the day the trade is going down. The 300's owner wanted to make sure there were zero oil leaks and the the gas gauge was fixed. First order of business will be fixed the rear quarter window.

Cool, is the rear quarter window problem with a power window motor or something else? If it is the motor it has been discussed here.

Well? We're waiting with bated breath!

Ok...I got it! I will post pics tomorrow, I promise! So far, here's what's wrong:

Drivers' rear quarter window doesn't roll down (manual)
Dome light and brake lights both don't work, already checked fuse
Driver's front window likes to get out of track on the front in the wing window channel. Appears to be a missing clip guide?
Passenger wing window cranks open but not closed, appears to wind out into the car?
