New to forum, and pondering a trade for a '66 300

Better late than never! Here she is, I've affectionately named her 'Joan', being derived from the sexy red head on Mad Men. As you can see, she's pretty nice, got rid of those stupid STP stickers. In one of the pictures you can see what's going on with the driver's window, dropping out of the track of the wing window as it goes up. Anybody got any ideas how how to fix that?

You have a beauty. Thanks for sharing looks even better than the first pictures you showed us. The Nixon bumper sticker kills me.

Love the car, those are right up there on my favorites list!
Youll need to get replacement plastic guides that hold the front edge of the glass in the forward track. There are 2 of them and you can see the hole for the upper one in your pic. They are 2 piece and are likely still in the door so you can see what they look like. I have not had to source thes in the aftermarket because I have always had some parts doors laying around. You will need a factory service manual for your car for the details on how to take the door and vent frame apart far enough to replace them. That may not be your only issue though as the glass was probably out of adjustment to begin with thereby popping that guide out at some point. Or maybe the guide just broke and fell down the track and into the door.

This car looks pretty sound. Try to get rid of the little misalignments on trunk lid, drivers side door, license plate and fender skirt; at least to my eyes this adds another good portion to the overall look, the bumper itself took a few little blows as it seems.

Jone is lovely...... Just something special about those red heads......
The Nixon sticker has to stay..... It's like an original chrome dealer emblem.... It's a nice era detail.
About the window..... What Matt says.

Were these 63 plates in use in Washington during 66 with added stickers as the old yellow California plates that were used from 1956 on and up ?

all I can come up with is, Hammer.

Thanks for all the comments! I love the car, I've gotten more compliments in the 2 days I've had it then I had gotten in the 5 years with the truck.

Regarding the window, I know the passenger one still has it's plastic clip guide, I can see how it'd work, hopefully there's an aftermarket version out there somewhere? I don't have a '66 Chrysler factory service manual, but I do have a Plymouth one for that year. Maybe the section covering the Fury would be the same?

The Nixon bumper sticker is an original I had mounted on a magnetic sheet so it's removable, I had it on my truck last. I just love period correct stuff and it seemed to fit right in.

The 'Wash. 63' plates are the car variant of what Washington would have issued in 1966. I've had that matched pair for 10 years waiting for the right classic car to put them on. I just need to get the '66 stickers and luckily a local guy makes reproduction ones. In 1967 the plate changed to WASHINGTON with year and month stickers. And for even more useless information, my truck had classic plates as well, but instead of 'Wash. 63' they had 'TRK WN. 63'

A little more detail: the door windows actually get a flocked plastic channel that is held in place with the retainers that Matt mentioned. The channel wih new retainers is still available at your Chrysler dealer. Part number 2932230. They ain't cheap, but I've heard the aftermarket ones are junk. I had one of the new Mopar ones in my hand today and it is the same quality as original.

The only fix that I know of, for your vent window regulator, is replacement.
The rear window most likely has frozen/ broken rollers. They are a pain!

At ah boy, way to raise your post count!

In looking at pictures online, I don't think that is the correct part for C Bodies. On my '65 300 the Glass Channel Run Guides are two separate plastic strips per door that are only flocked at the bottom half below the door panel. Each slide into grooves in the vent window channel. The aluminum is crimped at the bottom to keep them in place. This part isn't reproduced but I was able to source a nice used set from National Moparts.

It appears that National Moparts only has these for '67 and up. Also, would it be worth going to power windows or is that a giant pain in the butt?

Also on my brake light/dome light front, the fuse and fuse holder are fine, working correctly. I was looking at my Plymouth diagram for '66 Fury (best I have right now) and see that both the brake light and dome light run through the turn signal switch? Does this sound right?
