New to me 78 NYB on its way but please Don't tell my wife

I took the switch for the antenna home as the back was loose.

After I finished digging for a while in the dash today, I looked at my arm....

The back of the switch was loose so I took the opportunity and opened it up to clean the contacts. I also replaced the spring with one I took from a clicker pen. Much stronger.

I set the back of the switch with a little super glue. Then I melted over the plastic tabs with my soldering gun.

Calling Murray Park tomorrow for the light switch plug.
I was wondering if that was available... sorry to hear the bad news. More importantly, did you find the short? You don't want to burn two of them (or the car).

Did you find the front license plate mounting bracket in the trunk. All of those cars came with one and if you're in a state that only has a rear plate you usually find the front mounting plate assembly in the trunk.

Car was originally from California so the front tag bracket is on the bumper right now. But I will clean it up and put it in the trunk soon enough.

Quick question guys....

Should headlight doors open when the car is off/key out and you turn on the lights?

You could try something like this... but I still fielded the question "what year is it?" every time I was near the car... Plus one fine young lady complaining to her companion about a caddy at a Mopar show :realcrazy:

I took my bracket right of when I got mine years ago. They look so much nicer and symmetrical without them, as most cars do.
No offense Jeff. It's just me...

With the mounting hole and insert present, I wanted to finish the look... if it wasn't there, I'd have left it.

When I bought my NYB from York, Pa. the front plate mount wasn't on the front or in the trunk. I called the lot lizard where I bought the car and he said it was in the trunk but threw it out when the car arrived at his lot the previous week. Of course it went to the dump before I realized it wasn't with the car. Maryland requires 2 plates. I tried using a universal mount from AAP/AZ but of course it wouldn't mount correctly. I finally got one from Derby Josh.
