When I bought my NYB from York, Pa. the front plate mount wasn't on the front or in the trunk. I called the lot lizard where I bought the car and he said it was in the trunk but threw it out when the car arrived at his lot the previous week. Of course it went to the dump before I realized it wasn't with the car. Maryland requires 2 plates. I tried using a universal mount from AAP/AZ but of course it wouldn't mount correctly. I finally got one from Derby Josh.
Who’s derby Josh???

And does he know where I can get a new evaporator????

You can get a new condensor here....

Well... vintage auto air in Tampa had what I needed. Just ordered the evaporator and added in a new heater core. I figured better to be safe than sorry considering the sorry state of the radiator.

For those interested..... Evaporator was $248.38 with shipping. Heater core about $125.25. Shipped with the evaporator n.c.

Grand total.... $372.63 ouch!!!

Another 10 hours to pull change and replace.... priceless.

Don't feel too bad about your cost for both cores..I spent $400. just to have my heater core rebuilt 2 years ago.
A handy tip if you're wanting to save some money fooling around with old and unknown A/C systems: Leak test with compressed air (approx 120 psi). A lot cheaper than Freon.
