From my perspective, it seems folks who restore their own cars primarily and/or have a lot of work done on them to a high level of restoration are more keenly aware of the costs/time of such an endeavor compared to those who buy their cars in very good original shape and/or low careful miles to begin with or those who do not value a very well-restored vehicle and are happy to drive a not so top level car. As such, those factors seem to affect the prices individuals will pay for a vehicle. The car at hand is pretty original and not messed with too, so that provides some variation in estimates as well since many do favor those qualities while colors on the car also have a big influence. Also, some folks are fine with low options and others are not.
I believe those are the reasons for the wide variation in the estimates for this example plus its desirability as a favored model and its rarity.
But I do also agree that prices are trending down since these cars are 50 years old now and most examples still left need a lot of work.
It still has not sold even at the much lower asking price. That suggests this car is probably still overpriced. I am sure someone will eventually buy it at a price point still to be determined. The economy is starting to slow again because of the corona virus and the resulting lock downs cratering economic activity and that trend will probably get worse before it gets better. Toss in likely higher fuel prices and higher taxes and it is anyone's guess how long it will take for the collector car market to again recover. I will hazard a guess that this car will probably be in the $7.5k to $10k range before it generates a sale, that assumes the ad is correct that there is no frame or other structural rot.

One of the reasons that I am not very impressed with this car is the amount of rust that is showing. It is a virtual certainty that there is a lot more rust that does not show. I would be worried about the cowl, trunk floor, front splash shields and wheel houses to start. This was a vinyl top car and the hard to find trim for the lower part of the roof and under the back window is missing.

Here's a few pictures of the trunk and back window area. The car was pulled off the road in the 80s sat outside for about 15 year's last 20 in a garage. I offered 7k for the car he said 10k buys it.
The close up photos show about what I expected, the rear channel is toast and bondoed over and the trunk floor will need to be replaced. Pop rivets on the rear quarter panels is a nice touch and is a useless attempt to make the car appear better than it is. There will likely be a lot of rust under the chrome spear on the rockers as well. Looks like they saved the missing vinyl top trim at least. 35 years of cold storage means that there are going to be a lot of mechanical issues as well. Your offer of $7k to me sounds about right.

While I don't disagree with the assessments on the newly-posted pics and how they affect this car's value, seems like we've seen guys pick up 383-2 barrel 4dr project cars with some rust in the $3-4000 range. The extra $6-7000 brings a lot of valuable features here.
This is a GT, buckets/console, correct wheels, new tires and brake lines, and seller says runs and drives well. Interior is mostly serviceable. Not specified but presumably # match and 'only' 95k miles.
Not an ideal candidate for a full resto, but a good candidate for fix-ups on some things and a blind-eye on other things.

Right, a ´good roasting’... the only shred of reasoned argument in that whole ´discussion’ is the claim only 50 folks would be interested in such a land yacht in the whole country, and that few of them have money. I happen to believe there are many more, but what do I know.

Restored SFGT don't really come up for sale though do they? I was under the impression the ones that sell are projects. I'm sure I could have missed it, but what does a restored one go for?

This one is just priced too much. Glad the folks on there tore him a new one and told him the truth about what he has.
